Legal position Update

There was talk a few weeks ago by many forum members including myself about the lack of promised facilites being completed within a reasonable timeframe. We as a group wanted to see if we could tie Calidona down to an acceptable completion time.

There was somebody on the forum who was talking to an English lawyer in Spain regarding this matter.

Does anyone knows what happened and if a legal position was ever sort?

Hi. It's Lisa here... apologies for not updating everyone. 
It looks like I have a meeting with the new English lawyer, based in Spain on Monday. I'm just waiting literally now for an appointment time.
I will update later to confirm if I have got my flight and appointment time.
I have also had lots of discussions with Esther at Calidona and she has updated me with more information and confirmations that are due to be released.
If it's ok with everyone I'd like to put all my findings on here in one go. I should have a clearer overview of the position by the then.
I have to say at this point I think it's still going to be a great development but like me I'm sure we all now want clear outlines of what facilities we are going to get, when we're going to get them and all our legal options.
I'll come back with a full report after my meeting.

Hi Everyone.

Well I have been over for the meeting with the lawyer and have lots of very postive information to report and would like all of your feedback on the best way to give you all these details.

It's very strong information and of course I only want legitimate owners to be able to see this.

My idea was this.... I will post my hotmail address and ask anyone interested in either forming an owners group, changing lawyers, legal information regarding deposits, facilities, completion etc to e-mail me.

To confirm everyone is who they say they are I suggest everyone copies the first part of their contract  showing their name and e-mails this together with a utility bill from home so we know if we're going to consider going forward as a group this information will remain private.

On a positive note the solicitor was confident about the area we have purchased in and the developer's reputation so I'd like to clarify this is in no way a suggestion that we all band together for legal action against Calidona but there are some very important pieces of legal information I have to share and have the solicitor's details for anyone who wants them.

I was very impressed with him and now feel totally confident about this firm representing me. The one major regret I had about my purchase was that I agreed for a Spanish legal firm I didn't know to represent me in Spain. This lawyer has been recommended by a long standing friend. He is British but has lived in Spain for over 20 years. He's in his mid forties, fluent in Spanish and there is no problem leaving your current lawyer and changing to him.

I paid 50% in advance to the lawyer suggested by MRI I won't receive any of this money back but I just have to e-mail them to terminate the relationship. You can do this too and after meeting this lawyer I am very happy to recommend him to anyone.

There is strength in us all combining at this stage so please give me your feedback

This lawyer  is with a firm away from the area so has no personal connection or interests with the developer, local agents or suppliers... for me this is a hugely important factor and I now for the first time feel I am represented by a lawyer who knows me, my concerns and has my best legal interests to the fore.

Really not a very nice reply when I'm just trying to help.If you'd have bothered to contact me as a great deal of other owners have you'd have seen I've only asked for proof you are a genuine owner and making fun of someone's name is really childish and stupid.

I flew to Spain at my own cost and spoke to a lawyer... at my own cost to share very useful information. At no cost or bother to anyone. If I wasn't a lady I'd write something else on here. You're an idiot whoever you are.

There are lots of very nervous people on here some in very very serious situations and I was genuinely trying to help.

If you have a concern why not express it in an adult way.

Dear Lisa and all fellow Corvereans,

Like all the other good folks, although having thanked you privately, I once again record my thanks to you Lisa, on open forum.

As usual, because of related pressures and concerns, I am sitting here at 05:30 ploughing through forum messages and private messages also sent in as a result of my exhortations that like-minded folks should get in direct contact with you (Lisa) in connection with our confidential group.

You can imagine my disappointment and horror when I read the input from "Twizzler", who, in his/her infantile way, has adapted my forum name to bring me into disrepute.

Thank you Lisa and all for flying to my defence and I'm afraid that as always on our passage through life, we are going to bump into these low-life types.

Let's not be distracted nor hurt by such pathetic disruptions and I for one, refuse to take the bait in terms of even posting a response to him/her, apart from this one acknowledgement to forum  friends and colleagues.

BUT for the sake of all forum observers and participants, if I write a submission, my forum name is FIZZLER and so please be careful when reading this other character's diatribes, to differentiate between us.

I must admit to a wry smile when, after recovering and realising that this is a respondent using a corruption of my forum name, that I wondered if I'd actually touched a sore point with someone with a vested interest, during my postings and who's business it is to monitor this site?!

Anyway TWIZZLER, please don't bother any more, you will not be responded to, certainly not by me, so go and play with your Lego and leave decent folks to get on with their adult business. We have neither the time nor spare mental capacity to be bothered with such infantile and irresponsible behaviour.

Another thorough post Fizzler, but very self important of you though to think I copied your name. Didn't  you think twice about sending a copy of your contract and a utility bill to a complete stranger? The criminals who specialize in identity theft would love to get their hands on your utility bills, but maybe you are the trusting type. I honestly hope you don't lose any more money !!

Let's not digress too much please (or create upset) as eventually we may be neighbours.

What's the problem people? Do as I did and just "block out"  the confidential parts of your documents such as actual passport number, account number etc and Lisa will send you the details of the meeting with her lawyer as she is a very astute member of this forum and probably of the future Corvera Owners Community.

Lisa thank you publicly for your contributions and resourcefulness, it is and always will be much appreciated by those who matter.

Come on Corvarians lets not get like our sister forum - take a look at the New Years Eve thread and you will know what I mean.

In defense to TWIZZLER I too was very cautious about sending personal data online to somebody who I had never met.

A quick note to Lisa resolved that matter. I think many of us are feeling a little stung and worried by our purchase in Spain (MRI - nobody on this forum please let me add in haste).

Please remember the written word can often be taken the wrong way - don't tell me nobody has had to make amends over a misinterpreted text. For example Cheers to you all !- I genuinely mean it well, I have text  this and someone took it to be sarcarcastic!

Live and let live; Twizzler looks new to the forum; got it wrong with what I believe was a bit of wit taken the wrong way - we want to encourage new members lets not over react and be friendly.
