We are just back from Duquesa.

The propertys in Khios and Samos are finished. The grounds are more or less finished. The grass and trees just need time to grow. The workmen were working on the pool. I presume they are looking at putting some water in it now.

The other apartments in the first phase look finished, i was told the developer is applying for the licence.

There is a lot of building going on across the road from our apartments. I would imagine it will be another year before they are all finished.

There is land been saved for a hotel beside our apartments but there have been no offers from any hotel companys. This is what the developer tells me.

If people are thinking of taking the devloper to court they will need to be carefull.

We have been told the devloper and the solicitors are in it together. The developer gives the solicitor business. This is why the solicitor trys to put people off from taking the developer to court.

If you are thinking of renting through agents i think you should think again.

The way people will rent the property is by advertising back home themselves. The rental companys are trying to make there money from you but managing your property.

We went round furniture stores with our agent. The agent is only going to show you the stores where they get there commission. The advantage of using the agent is they will make sure everything is fitted in your apartment and will be there when ther is a delivery. I think we will do a combination of using the agent and buy some things ourselves.

It takes between 6 and 8 weeks delivery time.

We have an offer from a bank now regarding a mortgage. It looks like we will take this offer in the next few weeks unless there is something better.

Loan amount: 200,000€

Term: 25 years with the first 5 years on interest only

Opening fee: 1.5%

Interest rate : 4.40% for the first 6 months

Followed by: Yearly Euribor (3.73%) + 1.25% with annual reviews

Monthly payments on interest only: 830€ interest only approx

Monthly payment on repayment: 1284€ repayment approx

If someone has a better offer please let me know.

We have given our solicitor the power of attorney. This means they will now do everything for us including get our NIE number and sign the deeds once we have the mortgage.

I presume we will go back to Duquesa around the beginning of February because this will be the time we will have the furniture in the property and have the keys.
