Has anyone else  had trouble cleaning the inner third of the windows on the outside cos I tried and you just cannot get inside it so that bit is still left dirty.  Have thought of one of those magnetic double gadget window cleaners but I read the reviews and some people say they do not work.

Hi There...

I have the same problem, so we bought one of those magnetic window cleaners for 10 euros.

What a waste of money!!!!!!!!!!! Because the windows are double glazed the magnet isn't strong

enough to hold it to the window and just falls off. Happy days! I have spent many an hour wondering

how to solve this problem. Any suggestions gladly received.

Hasta luego...   Michelle x

Sue says "pull the curtains"!!!

Thought that was quite funny really!  Not much help though, sorry.

Regards

Hi Ruth

We have a 2 bed apartment and we have found the same problem when cleaning the bedroom windows.

We asked Polaris if window cleaning was in the maintenance charges and they said no.

Wonder if anyone living on Condado is thinking of starting up a window cleaning service?

Pam

Hi

Some of the magnetic window cleaners are suitable for triple glazed (I think I might have seen on ebay) so should have stronger magnet, but don't quote me on this.

Hope this helps ,we had a small hand held cleaner and managed to clean from inside but had to close window as far as we could with arm outside then the blade reached. When we move in New Year we are taking the ladder as it will be so much easier to do from the outside.

I would say, that in the absence of curtains, the best course of action when looking towards any grubby bits of  window, is to close your eyes!!   Another possibility would be to dangle somebody over the wall from the roof terrace armed with a squeegee, although I don't think there will be many volunteers. Hope this helps!!

I seem to recall an earlier post (goodness knows on which thread though) that said the bloke was a window cleaner and they were moving to Condado.  Maybe some of the other members will remember this too and provide the info?????

It sounds like it'll have to be one of those extending cleaning poles you sometimes see in those Sinday supplement magazines full of things you didnt know you needed. We were looking at this problem. when we were over. I think with an extending pole and window blade you could just about do the windows from over the wall on the terrace.  Another trip to Lerou Merlin I think.

As our ladder has only 5 steps this wont be sufficient from the groundfloor and what would the downstairs neighbour think when they find you/us on their back terrace. It'd be our luck for them to arrive unexpectedly and find my husband teetering about on a short ladder mumbling about cleaning windows and not being a peeping tom!!

I haven't checked the windows at Alahama but I know that most sliding windows can be removed from their outer frame to clean. Basically you just lift upwards of the track and the gap at the head of the frame is usually deep enough to accommodate this movement. Try it out on the front patio window for peace of mind. Due to the above it is advisable from a security point to install locks.

Hope this helps

Rob

Is this the best way of cleaning upper floor windows- dangling Shampers at 5am over various roof terraces. It could become a UTube hit!!

You would have thought PW would have included this within the community charged jobs- however maybe there's a shortage of available staff (willing to be held over all those terrace walls).

Meanwhile...what do you plan to charge Shampers? No one else seems to be offering this service.

Having read the other recent threads we see a business oportunity for someone setting up and cleaning windows. Plus a taxi service although I know licences are hard to come by.

Planning to vist Brico and Leroy Merlin on our nest visit to see if they have anything that might work for the windows

hi its easy, i was over there last month. the thing to do is to get a phillips screwdriver and take one of the handles off, and then you can slide the windows both ways.( don't forget to put the handle back on ha ha )
