We've just had our first direct debit for electricity usage -  45.88 Euros.

We don't exactly know when the meter was fitted but when we left our property on Dec 9, after just a 3 night stay, the meter read 132. We always shut the power to the apartment off at the fuse box when we leave. Our previous stay was for 9 nights in October.

So  this seems a bit high to us - may be the standing charge is very high?   Does anyone know the standing charges and unit rates ?

Thanks

Chris & Alison

PS we're back out there on Saturday, it will be interesting to see if the meter still reads 132 ...

Hi Chris & Alison,

We have received 3 bills from Iberdrola so far.

150 Euro's on the 4th Dec 08 for connection

7,76 euro on 16th Dec 08 for Electricity

27,01 euro yesterday for electricity

The puzzling thing is that we have not been to our apartment since early November. Since then the electricity and water have been turned off.

According to the latest bill we used 5.75KW of electricity from Dec 08 upto now. I have asked the question about this to them by email , still waiting reply but I have read on another forum that they generally do not read the meter every 2 months (billing frequency) but estimate the usage. Although there is no indication as to this being an estimate on the bill.

Will post reply, if i get one.

I've had €46 too, as far as I'm aware I'm expecting approx €10 per month standing charge so that would account for €20 and the rest to be estimated.  Not yet seen the bill so can't confirm.

Anyone set up the online account with Iberdrola yet?

Hi Phil

Could you please let us know how you set up your account on line, we have paid our connection fee in December and the first payment of 27.55euros was debited from our bank account yesterday, as we have not been out since October 08 and we our not out again until April , I presume this is a bi-monthly standing charge. Any info would be helpful.

Thanks

Sandy & Steve

Hi Sandy & Steve,

To set up your on-line account you will need your first bill which will have an activation code at the very bottom of the first sheet.

Go to http://www.iberdrola.es/webibd/corporativa/iberdrola?IDPAG=ENWEBCLIENTES and select online office from top

Select the option       Registro de clientes

It will ask you if you have a hard copy of your bill - click here

You then put in your activation code, email address, Identification (passport number, NIE number) and your email address.

When complete click continue.

You will then get an email with your login details.

Once you get this you simply use the link above but login this time and you can access all of your bills etc.

Do not try to do this without the activation code as it will not work and you will waste loads of time trying.

Hope this helps

Hi Phil

Thats great, just one problem we have no bills or documentation , I presume these are sent to the Jardine address ,and as we have not been over since last year ,we have not collected the key for the post box , so  guess this will have to wait until we have collected our mail in April.

But certainly a good idea to get bills etc. on line .

Thanks

Sandy

Hi Sandy,

You are correct the original paper copy bills were in our post box. Our keyholder got the keys from Cust service and emailed us them so that we can set up on line.

I have just been looking more into my bill and our last bill had a total consumption of 0 KW, which I expected as we have not been out during this billing period.

The charges were broken down into Termino de Potencia ( Terms of Power) ,rental for the equipment (meter) and IVA (Tax)

So i am assuming the terms of power which was the majority of the bill is the equiv. of our standing charge in the UK.
