Just back from 5 wonderful days at HR so here a few updates for anyone interested.

3 very stormy days with constant gale force winds, rain, hailstones and disappearing patio furniture. Last 2 days were much better, wind eased and lovely sunshine 21-24 degrees, managed to get the BBQ out on Saturday afternoon.

No evidence of the promised mass planting on the course however word on the Calle  is 13000 shrubs have been ordered and planting to start end of March ( I have left out the year!!!). Not much irrigation going on  and course is looking a little pale. Rough and bare areas, new grass starting to come through in places but masses and masses and masses of weeds.making it look tatty. Frog lake was quiet but that will change with the mating season but a boat has appeared and safely moored.

Phase 6 pool was drained for maintenance, apparently a new company has taken over the pools and the old company left a few gremlins. Gardens around phase 6 very dry, again no irrigation and path lights not working, but pool lights blazing away every day from 4pm till midnight. even though no water in the pool.

Roads around resort attrocious (see Sucina restaurant fish and chip shop thread) but work on new N301 motorway progressing very well. No progress with the new road adjacant to HR and Paraleja to join F20.

Due to weather we spent some time at La Torre and El Valle. The town centre at la torre is very impressive and the restaurants and bars busy. This is how it should be. Drove back from Murpheys pub in La torre 80-90 punters. HR shed zero punters but that was probably due to the winds making it very uninviting. El Valle club house impressive and definitely worth visiting and not far away thru the back roads.

Another great visit and thoroughly enjoyable. HR is still extremely quiet though, in our  block only our apartment occupied again during this time. This equates to 4.6million Euros of peoples investment lying idle. (thats just one block)

It must be said though that we at HR are being massively short changed by PW with the lack of facilities/town centre compared to the other resorts. It is only the rapid completion of these facilities that will build up the occupancy rate and change the 'G' in HRGR from 'Ghost ' back to 'Golf.'

Sorry this is not my usual positiveness, we still had a great relaxing time but dissapointed with lack of visible progress since Christmas.

Hi Graham,

Many thanks for your post, I know many of us on Hacienda will be very grateful for the update even if not very positive.

It is such a shame we do not seem to be progressing at all, and in some cases it would seem, going backwards.

Like you I have always tried to be positive about Hacienda  but you can only have so much hope before you start to become negative.

By looking at all the posts to see what everyone else is saying, even if it is not to your own way of thinking is how we put the whole picture together which is really what these forums are for. Some Posts I take with a pinch of salt, some people do expect too much and did not do their research  well , if at all, before buying.

What makes me dispondent now is the news on our Resortalia site of little progress not only with the Town centre but the Sports area which I thought was days away from getting its licence quite some time back, the mass planting that now seems to have been put back again and as you said some path lights not working and a lot of weeds and the place looking a bit untidy.

If I was able to reside on Hacienda, or be in a position to visit on a regular basis, I would certainly go forward for a President nomination, I would give myself a year and try everything I could to get to the bottom of the current problems and find out the real truth behind what is really going on and report to all owners.  If I could not get any further, or if I had bad news, I think all owners at least have the right to know.

Having said that, I am not in a position to even help out the current presidents. I am sure a lot of people may think the Presidents are not doing enough, the one thing I would say bearing in mind the  General meeting coming up is unless some else truly believes they can give real help and time to the community I do think we probably have the best Presidents on board as they have dealt closer with Polaris than most of us unfortunate onlookers and I for one support them further for at least another year and wish them luck with the hope that by the end of 2009 they will at last give us good news and hope.

I read that Kenny was going to the March meeting and wish him well as I know he is a long time writer of this forum and has given a lot of thought and information to all of us.
