Hi everyone,

I have read on one of the postings regarding Sergio representing our case and I'm sure I read that the water treatment plant hasn't actually been built. Not sure if this is true but PW were blowing their trumpet on this from day one. If it hasn't been built, where is all the water coming from to supply our appartments and pools? Also, with the flooding of the lake around La Isla, surely this is going to put a strain on water supplies in what is a very dry area.

I don't want to get to a situation where we have water turned off during certain periods. Can anyone shed any light on this issue?

Phil

I asked this question to the sales office this week and was told that PW had a plant near los Alcazares for Mar menor but for Condado they opted to pipe in the ones already built so our water comes from de-salination plants at Bolnuevo and mazzarron apparently it was a cheaper option.

I picked up one of the thick glossys and guess what ? there is nothing in it anymore re-water.

Water for the gardens is re-cycled from our baths and sinks but as there is not enough of us living here to create enough they have to top it up with buying in ..............so come on all of you hurry up and move in .......!

Hi All,

I also aked the question on this.  As they have not built it and do not look as though they are going to I have to wonder where the water for the golf course alone will come from.  Whilst out there recently there was a large protest going on.  The reason!  Central government has decided to divert water from the Segura river to (I think) Barcelona.  The reason why all the local people of Murcia (over 10,000) were protesting is because that will not leave them enough water for their own needs.  So how long before they stop UNNECESSARY wastage on a golf course etc, because it will be their supply we're using.

Personally, I believe its very important for that de-salination plant to be built.  A golf professional from Murcia predicted 5 years ago that many new golf courses will close if they could not provide their own water supply's, as there are becoming too many courses in what is effectively an arid dry area.  He felt the local authorities would step in to prevent wasteful supplies.  That was before the latest announcement of diverting water from the Segura river to Barcelona.

Any thoughts (sensible) ideas anyone.

If I remember correctly we were told that the desalination plant was a condition of planning that the council of  Murcia laid down to  PW before giving planning permission for Condado to be built, as there is not enough water in the region, and  this was a very important  project.  I was also of the opinion that PW had underground storage tanks collecting rain water for watering the golf course.   Like you Frank I think it is very import that the plant is built not only for ourselves but also for the people of the Murcia region.

Sonatigh does that mean showering with a friend is not allowed???

They have already built a desalination plant up near la azohia on the coast, dont know yet if they are using it as they were struggling with insufficient supply of electricity to power it.  'cart before the horse as usual'  This should solve the water supply problems and the golf course is watered by the recyling of our waste water on cda.
