hi everyone,
ive only just found this forum, has anyone else bought through macantony international? we reserved a donnana in october 2005 expecting to pay first instalment in december 2005 but guess what nothing no answer to our emails for a month only founnd out there was a problem when we rang macanthony:s call back service. no point on going through aftersales team as they dont seem to care , ive found that it is better to go through the origanal sales rep from london she seems to us to be more concerned about what is happening than the restof them her name is KAY THOMPSON if anyone wants to talk to her. All we have been told is that all the i,s should be dotted and all the t,s should be crossed by september but judging by what everyone else is saying thats a load of rubbish, just read that nothing will happen till september 2007 six months after our place was supposed to be completed so much for winters in the sun.

If, by "reserved" you haven't put even a deposit down, just walk away.
Considering that building stopped at ACC last summer, it's extremely unethical for the agent to flog you a property on a developement that was having difficulty with final approvals, something the agent was surely aware of.
Good luck, whatever you do.

Hi Everyone,
I have copied on a reply I received today 1509006 on the latest at ACC.
It seems positive and perhaps the end of the shutdown is in sight !
Hi Everyone, I have produced a copy of the e-mail received today. It is positive and looks like the end of the shutdown is in sight! Comments thoughts etc welcome ! :)
Dear Mr. & Mrs. W,
I hope you are well,
I am writing to you as an answer from an e-mail that you send to my college Jose María.
In this e-mail you are asking from an update regarding ACC.
At the moment we are waiting for the Junta get in contact with us to tell us a new meeting date. In this last meeting will be discuss the building license and it will be issue to us.
The Junta de Andalucía and the Cuevas town Hall are already into discussion to get into an agreement between them two regarding Cuevas de Almanzora. Once they get into this agreement, they will call us and tell us a date.
We are very confidence that they will contact with us shortly.
We think that all this situation will be solve in a short period of time.
At the moment that´s all the information I have. There is only three more steps more, first one, the Junta contact with us and give us an apoiment, second one, pass this meeting and third one, do some documents which needs to be done once the license is been granted to us (fast documentation).
We are getting into the end and shortly we will be able to go back to the site and finish your property and all our clients properties.
As soon as we know anything new we will let the agents know.
Kind Regards
Juana Mendoza

Bachey - Yes, it is very unethical of MacAnthony to have sold you anything - they must have known that building was brought to a complete halt last summer. My advice - walk away from this agent and I'm speaking from very personal experience with them!
We ourselves have gone through a different route and are hanging in..............Good luck.

Thanks for the above info AndyLynnW. So Huma now say: "There is only three more steps more, first one, the Junta contact with us and give us an apoiment, second one, pass this meeting and third one, do some documents which needs to be done once the license is been granted to us (fast documentation) "
Anyone else get the feeling of "deja vu" ??

I found these details on devwatch, and contacted Parador about the building work delay and was told it didn't stop until October or November 2005, but if you look at the date when this article was written you'll see that stuff stopped well before their timeframe!!

No actual building (contruction) was going on when we visited the site in Sept 05. The Spanish workmen had just returned from their August shut-down and all that was happening was marking out of plots, measuring, and road development with dumper trucks running about. Not a brick was being lifted.

Hi,
They were building when we went to view which was end of october there was plenty of activity not just marking out. we even went back next day to view again, so maybe that was the tail end.

So, if we both witnessed building work in October, that makes a lie out of the Devwatch article dated 25/08 (Work Oficially at a Standstill in Almanzora Country Club) then.

hi Blanchy,
when we went end of october there were at least another dozen people viewing site all from different estate agents not just MRI who we are with . When we went back in febuary after badgering agent to take us out to almanzora it looked completely different only a couple of office staff and one agent who had apparently had a break in dont know which company he was from didnt ask. going to Almeria next feb with a bit of luck work might have restarted.
Hazel.

The general word on the street is now early next year (2007) for building to restart. So for people that signed back in 2004 that will be a b**** long wait even in Spanish time!

Just came back from visit to ACC.Nothing has changed since our last vist there in April.
Parador rep on site plus a couple of security guards.Parador rep cannot say when work will restart as building licence has not yet started.
However at this stage quite a bit of work has been done up to last Nov.with over 200 units at various stages of completion.
Spoke with our solrs, they have no further information either but suggested it might be December when work restarts.
Clearly all interested parties are anxious that work recommences asap but until the Junta issues building licence this cannot happen.
However I personaly am satisfied that it will happen sometime and when it does it will be worth the .wait.
Hang in there.
