Hi John/Linda - We were allowed inside our apartment and onto the roof by Palacios Mar. There is still some plastering to be done in stairwells and corridors. Our apartment is finished apart from items that are left until right at the end to install. i.e. toilet seats, white goods, air conditioning unit etc. It needs sweeping out and cleaning of plaster and building dust which we assume is one of the last jobs to be done. We noticed that debri had accumulated in door runners which we hope will be cleaned out properly, otherwise the doors might not operate correctly. The electric wires are sticking out of walls and ceilings ready for light fittings etc. In the short time we were able to look around the apartment, it seems to be finished to quite a good standard. Obviously we will take a closer look at everything as soon as we can, when it is ready for snagging. The pool is bigger than we were expecting!

and to think i was told only a few weeks ago that block 5 would be completed in february!!... that appears most unlikely!! but the development as a whole is looking quite good.
nick and linda, did the builder say anything about a completion date for other blocks, specifically block 5, while you were out there?
just on your A/C unit. is that part of the standard package you signed with the deal or did you arrange it seperatley? my contact only says the apartment will be fitted for A/C in the main bedroom and living room. no mention of A/C unit :-(
regards

Hi to Gunnerfitzy
Sorry but there was no mention of completion dates of other blocks. Our agent says our apartment has air conditioning unit of 3000 frigocalorias in the living room and pre-installation in main bedroom. Each block seems to have different contracts going by messages you read on the message board.

Hi Gunnerflitzy
I think block 5 buyers got a garage space in there deal .
Just returned from formentera i am very pleased with the progress of the whole development, but it still looks to me like june/july for blocks 1and 5 but you never know, they have done a lot of work since i was last out in september 06.
Glad to see that there are two bars opened on the front of the development one Spanish and one Irish. Manos and Liffeys.
Regards Alan

Hi all,
Block 5 came with a furniture package including white goods. There was no mention of an alarm :-( but my apartment did come with a car park space and adjcent storage unit included also. Don't know if this was common to all blocks or not.
I personnally think it block 5 will not be ready for some months. Besides, I don't think they want or can handle all blocks completing at the same time.

Wow! It shows what a lot of comment some photographs can generate. They say a picture is worth a thousand words and this superb series certainly acheives that and more....If only the builder had done something like this once a month they could have saved themselves and us a load of greif!
On the subject of what is included; we are buying in block 1 which has basements to the ground floor apartments instead of garages. We also loose a big chunk of space to a stairwell so that it may be accessed. We do get a furniture package, not one that is to our taste, but we were offered such a miserly credit in its place we decided that we would start off with it and chuck it out later.
No mention is made of a security system, but we do have an intercom and although it says "2 points air-conditioning" we don't think they intend fitting any units, just access points throught the walls.
I agree that things have come on quickly during the last 2 months, but I still see block 1 as being 2 to 3 months off, so hope that we have a result for May/June.
I do have one question; has anyone has seen a completed roof? In the rooftop illustrations I have seen the roof divided into small compartments. It looks as though they are private little areas, but only enough for a couple of floors, whereas an open area would allow anyone to have a nice sunny place to sit when appropriate. From the photographs there seems to be no evidence of these divisions and I hope that this will remain the case. Can anyone comment?

Hi Golria and Mike,
Nick & Linda would be the folks that could enlighten us on the present roof status. I would definately agree with you that an open roof would be a far better situation. I do know that some other developments divide up roof space and allot them to certain apartments, I hope that is not the case here. I couldn't imagine it would be practical considering the number of apartments per block.

Hi Gloria & Mike
I went on the roof of blocks 1 &2 last week at the moment there are no divisions apart from the wall dividing the two blocks, but they have not sorted the roof drains yet, this will lift the floor level up about 10 inches, which leaves the boundry walls at about 1 meter high, which to me seems a bit on the low side. this is a issue for all five blocks and needs to be looked at some stage, maybe a anti-climb paint would do the job, but this is something that the builder needs to sort out.

I have found that safety barriers to tend to be a bit skimpy im Spain. UK regulations would not permit such a poor barrier that people could go over so easily. However, I doubt if the builder will be doing much about it and it maybe something we have to look into as a group when we get some element of control.

Hi everyone. We have posted some rooftop photos in the shared photo galary, to show you that it is not sectioned off, only a dividing wall between blocks.
Ref No 40300 17th December.
Photo 1 - Rooftop of block 3, front facing , with views of Orihuela mountains. The site foreman, Miguel, is in the photo, which should give you an idea of the height of the balustrade in relation to an adult. As you can see the floor tiling is just about finished.
Photo 2 - Looking from steps of pool on block 4-view towards Guardamar.
Photo 3 - Another view of pool.
Photo 4 - Roof of block 3 taken from block 4.

Hi
I am still not sure if blocks 1&2 will be open or divided, my apartment is in block 4 and it is stated in the builders contract that i signed that there was a comunal space, which i took to be the comunal roof, so i was never in any doubt , so if you have a copy of your contract it should say one way or the other, my comunal space is 18 sqm , this will include corridors etc, i would think if the roof was divided into solariums the size of that space would reflect on the build size of the apartments,. and not show it as comunal space.

Hi guys,
Quick question. I was looking over illustrations and plan last night and I think I might have been told a major porky-pie.
Can anyone tell me what apartment letters are Front-Facing i.e towards the road and other buildings and what ones are Rear-Facing i.e. towards the green area?
Regards

Hi
On my plan plots C B A H are facing the green area , That goes for floors 1and 2, i am not sure about the ground floor apartments. The stairs and lift are on the side that face the green area if that helps you.

Hi alan,
That's good to hear. I took another look at nick & lindas pictures and yes the lift is on the same side as the rear facing apartments. Whew! On the development illustration it looked the opposite.
Many thanks!
