Penoncillo Road Petition

Hi Sandra (of AEA, our management company)

You will recall that at the  AGM 2009, when the poor condition of the Penoncillo Road was discussed the Owners were recommended to raise this issue directly with Manilva Town Hall.  I am writing to ask if  AEA could help to facilitate us in this matter.

I have set out below a  very short letter we would kindly ask you to translate into Spanish on our behalf and to send to all Coto Real Owner email addresses you have on record :

Dear Mayoress

As an Owner on Coto Real Duquesa Golf Urbanisation I’m writing to you regarding the  very dangerous state of the Penoncillo Road as it approaches  the entrance to Coto Real. This road is deteriorating very badly, is unlit, and is a Health & Safety issue especially for the mothers and young  children and toddlers that have to use use it each day. I am really concerned that there will be an accident if this is not rectified for which the Town Hall may be liable.

In addition, the unfinished nature of the road  means that none of the Owners can have access to a telephone line. The poor state of the road  has a severe negative influence on sales and rental prospects on our Urbanisation.

I would be very grateful if you would bring your influence to bear on this situation towards a speedy resolution. The road in its current state will not survive another winter.

If this can be contained to a single A4 sheet, containing both Spanish and English translations, (please have the Spanish translation entered first) which an Owner can print off and sign, can you provide a fax number that the Owner can send back to you ?

TIMETABLE : Maureen Less, Tasos 211 has organised Eye On Spain web video shoot provisionally set for Tues April 14th April. This will include footage on the state of the road together with interviews with residents from Coto Real and Arenal Duquesa. Eye On Spain will then be following this up with interviews at Town Hall.

Ideally we want this email sent out to Owners by Friday 10th April allowing them the weekend to return Petitions to you. Maureen will collect the returned Petitions from your office for presentation to the Town Hall.

I would be grateful if you would add the following covering email to the Petition letter :

"On behalf of the Management Board, and following our AGM, I enclose a Petition Letter which I would be grateful if you print off, sign, and either scan back to AEA at ============= or fax to 000000000000. Reply by Monday 13th April would be fantastic.

Maureen Lee Tasos 211 has organised Eye On Spain to do a 15 min video shoot on Tuesday 14th April showing the dire state of the road. There will be interviews with both Residents and Owners from Coto Real and Arenal Duquesa. We're hoping for a good turnout on the day,  coupled with an interview with Manilva Town Hall together with presentation of the Petitions.

Many thanks for your help in this - this is our chance to make an impact with Town Hall and get it into the public domain.

Just heard Justin won't be back until Saturday, you will just have to keep an eye on this site and as soon as he has confirm if it's going to be Tuesday or another day we will let you all know.

just to let you all know there is diggers and lorrys and men now working on our road, I will take some photos and post them on the site when I get back on 21st May.

Have just returned Coto Real - Finally completed on the appartment !

I took a few photo's of the work on the road. see photos on this site.

There were 10-12 workmen there busy with diggers and levelling machines - progress is really hapenning with the new road now.

All your hard efforts look like paying off !

I spoke with Chris Olsen (Foreigners Office) on Sun 17th May. He told me a new contract had been signed to complete the road from the bottom near Pueblo Mexicana to the Senior School, and that work had been started.

Yesterday I went up to look and there was quite a bit of activity.

He also told me that a further contract is to be signed to take the road from above or below the school and through the valley to join with the Peage junction.

Thanks for that update regarding the Road - much appreciated, and for taking the time to go and have a look.

I must say that in our Campaign we found Beli Munoz and Chris Olsen from the Foreigners Department very helpful and positive and played the major part in communicating our plight with the Mayoress who obviously bulldozed (pun intended) the whole issue through.

As long as the Road is completed right up to the Coto Real entrance I think we will be very happy with that, and we can then await the final push through to Manilva.

My wife Marianne, who sits on the Coto Real Board, wrote and thanked both Justin from EOS, and Beli, Chris & the Mayoress for all their efforts to date.

I have posted more photos of the new road now going in, fingers crossed it may continue.

It is now one way traffic up to Coto Real and there is traffic lights at the top and bottom, very funny as men are standing beside them operating them.
