Montisol Update

I know many of you have enjoyed going into the Montisol on your visits here but the Montisol is no more.

It has been refurbed, new menu and now a new name - Casa de la Vega.

I am told that menu del día is good - €10 for 4 courses and a drink, although as yet, we haven't tried it.

They do tapas (which we have tried and enjoyed) and they have a brand new menu.

They still have the TV on the wall but it now shows Spanish football etc and I didn't see any signs of internet access.

Mi Cortijo is now the english bar in the village, shows all the UK football etc and has internet connection and also does english breakfasts.

Well that is good news as far as I am concerned, I can't see the point of moving or visiting Spain and going into English bars and eating English food. I never used to go in there for that extact reason so maybe I will give it a try now.

We also prefer to go for Spanish style restaurants when in Spain.
Were in San Juan last week and one evening had paella at Casa de la Vega.
The food was ok, and the restaurant is most definitely Spanish at the moment,
although maybe not the cheapest place in town. Didn't ask if the WiFi was still
available but would agree that it looks unlikely.
 

Me and Ava had menu del dia last week and it was superb, lots of it, nicely presented and very very tasty. No hesitation in recommending it.

Agreed la carta is a bit pricey but that may change with time.
