I wonder if anyone has given much thought to security of your property. Seems everyone advises changing the locks as soon as you take posession, but what about alarm systems? It may be best to install them at build time, as the IR sensors can be neatly installed. Anyone asked Peinsa about this?

Thinking about alarm systems, we would need something whereby the cats don't set the alarm system off by moving around the villa while the alarm was on.  I assume if Peinsa did install an alarm system everyone would have to have the same system installed.  What do the rest of you think?

In all the places - holiday lets etc that i have been to I am yet to see an alarm system.  In the main the first line of security appears to concentrate soley on not allowing access in the first place - steel window grilles - security shutters etc.  There is not a allowance for security within our base fit-out specifications.  When i stayed on Mar Menor resort recently there were 3 reported thefts - all in occupied villas - all through open windows at night - another point is that if you declare an alarm system to your insurers and you dont have it on - is your insurance invalid in the event of a claim -  Communal vigilance may the best form of defence.

Hi All,  Tony has discovered a security system which is wireless, and you can activate it so even at home in England you can view what is going on in Spain. All we need now is to find out the price.

Have just discovered an ad for alarms to be fitted on all exterior grills. If anyone interested log onto Rejagard.co.uk looks ok  but I am not technical so would apreciate male thoughts on it.

Dear Andy, Does seem stupid only people I know who were broken into, it was middle of afternoon and the man was seen driving away. The thing was he took, make up,perfume, a few euros and a ladies passport, so the mind boggles. Police thought it highly hilarious.
