Help !! Please

I'm coming out to CDA this Sunday (26th July) I am now really struggling with a rental car !!!!!

We have a party of 6 (4 adults 2 kids). I've now tried two cars but there seems to be no availability of any cars !

As a last resort could anyone recommend a transfer company from Alicante airport to CDA ?

I do not know how to go about it, but there is a bus service from Alicante Airport (just outside termnal) to Murcia. From there you could probably taxi to CDA.

I have posted a previous thread about help with car hire as I had left mine late and was then being quoted ridiculous prices for our ten day stay from 04/08/2009. anything from £600 to over £1000! I was about to book just airport transfers when an hour ago I came accross www.amigoautos.com. I browsed through their website and there were some good deals at reasonable rates. I have booked a peugeot 207 for 362 euros for the 10 days which is half the price of the other rip off merchants who are taking advantage of a shortage of cars to fleece us all. No wonder people are deserting Spain as a holiday destination with companies like that around! I cannot recomend them as I have not used them before and I was desperate for a good deal. The car hire company they have sourced the deal with is goldcar. maybe someone can tell us of their experiences with them.

Hi They are alright we have used them twice the cars we have had have been relatively new with low mileage.

Generally there have been big queues though and there fuel prices tend to be high.

If you are going to go to spain again within the next year I would recomend getting extra insurance to cover you for excess, glass and under carriage from car hire excess insurance £49.00 for the year. If you purchase from Goldcar it will cost you between 3.00 to 4.50 euros per day.

Weve used Gold Car on our last 4 visits.  Great cars and never had any problems.  They definately seem to be the lowest price at the moment so expect a fairly long queue at the desk when you arrive. 

Another good site for vehicle hire is Carhire3000.  We have booked a car through these brokers (which funnily enough is with Gold Car) and they were £100 cheaper than everyone else!!

When the family and I were over at CDA in May we hired a 9 seat Mercedes van as there were 7 of us and a load of luggage, we hired it from Gold Car and the cost was 600 euro for 10 days, they had to bring the 9 seater over from Malaga as they dont have anything that large on site.
