Hi All
I had a thought recently as I remember reading an article last year in a Spain magazine, from a buyer on ACC regarding getting money back, so I have been checking back issues. I managed to find it and the response was quite detailed, and although a lot of it was no more than we all know already, there was a part that may be relevant to any of you who have had problems with your solicitors, especially where they are keeping your money when it is refunded. Apparently there are regulators for solicitors in Spain, just like over here in the UK. There is no address for them, but I am sure they can be located on a search. The regulating body is as follows: Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Almeria. The magazine reply states that if they receive a complaint regarding a solicitor, they are obliged to follow it up.
I have scanned the piece and if anyone would like to see the full letter and reply, please send me a PM with your e mail address and I will send it to you. I have tried to copy and paste it on to this post, but unfortunately I was unable to paste it.
I hope this will be of help to some people. Our solicitor is still fighting for our money, so we are not intending to contact the Colegio ourselves, but that doesn't mean we never will should things go wrong. Good luck. Regards Lin (and Tez)
