Weekly Events bulletin, week ending
13th September
No wonder the Murcians don’t suffer from post-vacation syndrome (yes, it’s real!) as no sooner do they finish the Summer Holidays than they throw themselves into a whirl of fiestas and ferias.
After a nice week off, we’re swamped by the volume of events happening around the region.
Here we have the fantastic Feria in Murcia, with something for everyone. There’s the gastronomic fair, the folklore festival, the livestock festival, lots of entertainment for the children, the Moors and Christians festival, loads of free concerts and food…..
 For the Active amongst you, why not go and see the Vuelta Ciclista a Espana when it comes through here on Wednesday, maybe catch the football at the weekend, go to the mountain biking workshop in Totana or enroll for the adult education classes at Canadas del Romero for the autumn. Maybe you could sign up for the swimming race as part of the Audi med Cup which is coming in the next couple of weeks. Oh, and did we mention the tickets for The Davis Cup?.
There’s still time to see Crazy People Running in front of enraged bulls in Calasparra, go to the local fiestas in La Pinilla or Los Almagros, maybe you’d enjoy a Choral Concert in Mazarron, or there’s Hip Hip, Breakdancing and concerts in Murcia. Perhaps Queen is more your taste, you could always go to the tribute concert on Friday night…..
News has had a funny week, unemployment and government deficits are reaching record levels, yet road deaths are down, the children are heading back to school and everything is busy busy busy across the region as everyone catches up after the summer break.
