This is a common occurance many people in my Garden thought they had paid the 196 connection charge and in fact had not on checking bank.
They all recieved two letters in Spanish relating to the 196€ and assumed they were reciepts when they were actually warnings of impending action to remove meters.
Meters have been removed and the only way you will get your meter back is by visiting the Urbaser office in Alhama De Murcia and Paying Cash 196€ connection plus 50€ for re-connection. They will only accept cash no Cards no Bank transfers etc.
Their office is behind the Tourist Office.
Their office has a pile of meters with labels on from which apartment they were removed.
If your meter has vanished this is the only route you can go if you pay before noon it will be refitted that afternoon.
They dont speak english so take your letters and water bills so they can check records and refit the correct house.
If you arrive late you will need to aquire water to flush your toilet etc.
