Just back from Condao, had a good time and enjoyed the fantastic weather.

But, one night (at approx 23.00) when we had a guest for dinner a crowd of kids from another garden (one boy in particular) deliberately kicked one of the low garden lights causing it the break and the bulb to smash as he passed on his bike. They then proceeded towards the pool. Before they reached the pool my wife and guest spoke with the kids regarding their behaviour. It was established that they weren't staying in Garden 8, and the boy who had kicked the light admitted doing so deliberately. He even said 'What's the problem, somebody'll fix it!!!'. They then went into the pool, after the 22.00 cut off unsupervised.

We subsequestly contacted security, but by the time they attended the kids were away. The matter was duly noted by security.

It was an unfortunate event that we didn't expect to see at Condado.

I don't think this type of behaviour should be ignored or is acceptable.

Could we have done anything different? Is there learning points?

You did all you could and notified security. That is the correct protocol.

Challenging offenders might be the wrong idea in a multi national community as some are more serious than others.

Its a shame we have a small element of people like this.

Pity you did not capture them on a camera or mobile.

I believe that anyone who is caught damageing lights or plants etc should be made to pay.

If they get away with it we all pay.

Everyone must report these incidents to protect the community.

We noticed that at night there was quite a few groups of teenagers wandering around, and they were mainly Spanish, on jardin 13 about 6 lights had been broken, and I don't think you can blame the grass cutters, as the position was next to the pool fence, I saw one had been knocked over during the night, same again quite a few groups of kids wandering around late at night, and the bar staff are serving teenagers!! Security needs to start having foot patrols around the site at night.

The resort is for all to enjoy, whether that be an early morning or evening stroll.  I would encourage all to identify and shame those who abuse a quality of life that most of us has strived so hard to achieve. Its a shame that the young have a tendency to trash the things we have saved,  worked and struggled for, but please don't drop your guard, this is our resort, for our enjoyment. If necessary lets dispose of the trash!

Raff,

It would be wonderfull to be able to rid the streets of all the trash you see, both the litter type along with the two legged variety that is so proliforate now. Unfortunately, being politically correct as we have to be, the scum remainds to stain the landscape.

Regards,

Billbo, why? why?

Political correct my bollicks. Are we to be held to randsom. I hate this argument, enjoy ,yes yes, but be responsible for the actions of your quests and in particular your childern. We seem to throw our hands up and say 'what can we do' and my answer is: IF you can't then we will! Come on this isn't right;  Say so and punish the offenders or those responsible for them. IDENTIFY THEM AND CHARGE THEM / THEIR PARENTS / THOSE RESPONSIBLE. I am I wrong , surely the whole point of buying in spain was to get away from this crap. LETS NIP IT IN THE BUD NOW AND SAVE ALOT OF GRIEF LATER.

Hi Raff,

I'm with you on this, too many parents allow their kids to wander the streets just for a quiet life and thats exactly what is happening on Condado.  Did see a young Spainish boy racer in a white BMW overtake me on one of the roundabouts heading down to the surgery, and I was travelling too fast but he was dangerously scary and I mean dangerously scary, like two wheels round the next roundabout.  This kind of behaviour has to be stopped.

Deliberate vandalism is lack of education and I bought on a PW complex thinking I would be mixing with  more educated  people who knew how be behave and conduct themselves properly but obviously not.  Seems it doesn't matter which side of town you come from there will alway be troublemakers.

Name and shame thats the name of the game.

Whats wrong with todays society is people close their eyes and their doors. This is not the environment I wish to live in. I want to live, to enjoy, to savor, to see the sunset and sunrise, to breath deep of freedom to hold and love, to drink the joys of life and be satisfied with my lot. To say good morning to my neighbour- is there anything i can help you with?; To swim on a secluded beach, a tapas in a spanish town, a red wine of an evening with a vista to share. This is my dream- why should we let the actions of others spoit our dreams. ITS  NOT THE INDIVIDUAL ALONE BUT THE COMMUNITY THAT DEMANDS RESPECT.

When we were over there were groups of children wandering about but no deliberate vandalsim. We saw security speaking to a couple of groups.  They gathered in the play area late in the evening area and were always English children and generally they were just entertaining themselves whilst their parents sat on their various terraces. into the late evening/ early mornings. However almost night there were groups using the pool late on-  No-one was doing anything awful . Maybe the signs need to be more obvious or the gates locked if it becomes an issue that really disturbs residents.

Raff/Folks,

Don't know whether the tone of my very short post came across properly ? 'Politically correct' to me is somethng I refuse to acknowledge. If something is wrong it should certainly be stopped and effective punishment enforced.

Pretty much my sentiments too regarding the state of affairs in UK and escaping to Spain to hopfully re-discover respect for others (something that is evaporating in the UK by the day). I could go on for ever about the wrongs that make my blood boil :-

Ineffective punishment of crime, perptrators smirking in court as the sentence is passed, peoples lives wrecked by the results of those crimes etc, etc. Benefit fraud (paid for by us) on a massive scale without the effective resourses to stamp it out. Illegal immigrants paid benifets and housing to then go out on our street corners and preach sermons of hate. We then stand by and just let it happen then seem surprised when they carry out a bomb attack.

I am firmly in the camp that will pull up or report to the parents, perpitrators of anti-social behaviour. We know this will be unlikely to bring anything other than confrontation in a lot of cases in the UK, but like everyone else I was hoping Spain (particularly where we are) would be different.

Hope this makes a statement of where I stand.

Regards,

The kids probably belong to the same Jardines owners who want to oust RPM as they don't fix the lights their kids break quickly enough.

The golf course will take some protecting too. When we were over we saw two adult males using the desert areas of the course for mountian biking and cycling happily across fairways. We saw Spanish families happily playing with their young kids on the greens we didn't even dare walk on. Spanish youths walking across seeded tees without a care in the world. And more.

Still pleased with the way things are developing but these few negatives need to be nipped in the bud as has been said. Problem is that unless you intervene personally at the time the situation has often passed before anything is done. Might be worth using cameras and reporting to security as soon as possible.

Hi all,

I agree with the sentiments and possible actions to stop or reduce the problems associated with nuisance people / kids. We stayed at LTGR last week and found new measures taken by them to help with the same problems.

All people now have to wear a green band when by the pool / or using the tennis courts. This is to stop any non residents or non renters using the facilities. Security was very visable and did frequently (appx 3-4 times a day) come round into the pools and wanted everyone to show the bands. while they did this they enforced the rules on ball games etc in the area. Although a few did try to hide the ball games etc in the most part i fealt it was a clear deterrant.

Security was also present in the pino's bar where underage drinkers were getting a little overrought and a sizeable group were escorted out. My daughter, 15 was just talking to her friends and not making any noise or trouble and in return she was not troubled by any of the security.

we did see some families walking over the greens to go back to the appartments however these were in a minority, and did seem to keep mainly to the paths.

During the day the paths were patrolled and I did see people asked to walk on the roads and not on the golfing parhs.

My conclusion is that security should and must be increased during the main holiday seasons, with these type of measures even if just to keep parity with the other sites.

The path ways of the golf course even though are not finished should again be monitered, or at least signs showing no entry?

I have also rented on condada while our La Isla apartment is made ready, and other suggestions would be the securities number posted arround so if we do see actions that need reporting then it can be done so quickly (crime stoppers).

So my feeling is that the security people need to know what you / we expect and make sure they do it, thats what you pay for.

Hope this helps

Neil and Helen

We were over in mid-July, staying in the Penthouses. One night about 10.00pm I was standing on the terrace looking out towards the course, enjoying the stillness and warmth of the night. I then thought that I could hear motorbikes out on the course, but I thought  nah.... maybe the local wine is stronger than I thought! When lo and behold 2 all-terrain 4 wheeled bikes came hurtling round the bend of the  golf buggy path. They were flying round, kamakazi like.

Only an hour earlier my wife and I had taken a stroll around the course just around sunset. We also had our 10 month old baby in her buggy. Over the fortnight  we were there, there were many people doing the same, having a relaxing stroll at the end of a hot day or heading back from the Surgery and taking the course route.

If one those bikes had came around a bend onto an unsupecting couple then the consequences would have been at the very least pretty serious.

Like other posts on this thread, I thought buying in CDA  meant escaping the loony behaviour that is prevailent here in the UK. The thing is, 2 days later while out walking my daughter I came across one of the bikes being lovingly maintained by its owner, a meathead from the UK.............

Apologies for being politically incorrect Billbo. I forgot you're one of the few entitled to have an opinion.

My first comment was meant to be ironic but obviously went over your head. Apologies again and I'll behave from now on !

No bother. Opinions are free. Over my head it certainly did go.

Quote from your post :-

The kids probably belong to the same Jardines owners who want to oust RPM as they don't fix the lights their kids break quickly enough.

I'm a Jardine owner actually with two kids aged 24 & 27. Now if I bloomin' catch them kicking lights over...........................................

And Carlsberg is probably the best lager in the world. Anyone with taste knows it is far from it. Asumptions can be misleading.

Please be careful what you say or I might have to report your post as being abusive.

Many moons ago Ham & I lived on an estate were decent folk were in the majority. Unfortunatly the minority. mainly youngsters & teenagers were making residents lives hell .So a group of us ( mainly ladies) decided to do something about it. When ever we were out either walking or driving through we made sure we had our cameras at hand. We took many photo`s of cuprits up to no good. Initially we forwarded them to the police but as time went by & nothing seemed to have improved we asked the on site shop if he would allow us to have a board in the window were we posted the photos.

Many parents were angry as their little angels would not do such a thing but the photos showed just what they were getting up to.

On a few occasions one friend who had a poleroid would follow the culprits at a safe distance until they reached their home. she knocked the door & on the few occasions that a perent was in , showed them the evedence.

Happily the vandalism stopped but it took almost 6 months of photo evedence shaming the culprits & their parents.

Not sure what measures could be taken on Condado but I will have a camera to hand & a good pair of walking shoes at the ready next time we are over.

Jan
