Mine is 28 and im aged 12! :)

Well on the Nintendo Wi-ii I play off a handicap of 2 and do pretty good but in real life I am 34 and play off 16 so not quite as good!!

I have a feeling the wind at Condado is going to be a real challenge even during the summer months. Would anyone agree with that?

Without a doubt Mark..........early tee times will definatley be the order of the day.  The wind between 2.00~6.00pm is really strong - some of the long 4's are un-reachable into the wind.  The 11th Par 3, when the wind is up is a driver off the back tees into the Island green (sawgrass style).......very scary!!

My son,Ben, is 22 yrs old and plays off 4 h/cap

Myself and Kim are over from 9th Oct till 21st Oct if any one up for a game anywhere.

I am currently trying to improve my handicap and I have decided the best place to start is the 19th hole.

Wife, Jackie trying to learn again so the driving range at Condado will satisfy her ambitions for a while yet.

Sounds like the 'davells' are going to be the ones to aspire to so far .

Nice to see we have a good collection of golfers coming to CDA. We need to get organized as soon as possible, so that we can look for some sort of a deal with PW. My wife is 20 and I am 10, although having played a fair pit in Spain, I reackon most people coming from Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales need at least 2 more shots to complete their. ( I hope I am not insulting any golfer for saying that). Having walked the course in CDA when the wind blows, its going to be a very good test, but I am looking forward tothe challange. Looking forward to meeting everyone in the bar and on the course.

have any of you sado's seen the golfing website how did i do .co.uk, if you are a member and your club is registered you can see club stats etc, quite interesting as it details your real handicap,

Have you noticed that you're the only one that ever mentions the word 'bandit' ?

Played yesterday, got 44 points,  would av been better but didn't bloody score on the 9th.  Shame I won't get cut, it was only a friendly.

You're right though, I couldn't really call myself a golfer. I am probably what you would call the opposite of a bandit - still struggling like hell to cling on to the 12 handicap. Gave up membership at Hartlepool 2 years back due to not playing regular enough but since that was my last official handicap, stick with it I do. I have not got a hope in hell in getting around Condado net par !

My claim to fame though a few years ago was playing with a member friend at Carnoustie and completing the front 9 one over par without handicap. On these days you think 'I can par this here', but of course the wheels come off and bring you back down to earth. Dropped another nine shots on the way in (4 on one hole) but suppose I was still satisfied being two under my handicap for a course of such stature.

Anyway, lets get our resort society up and running so we can get on some nice little jaunts to the local courses until Condado beckons.

Over next in Oct' for long week-end if anyone is up for a round. My missus wanted a rest last week because I was dragging her out & about everywhere, so there is my excuse to get out next time while she has a leisurely day by the pool.

I play myself and am a 4 handicap - my other half doesnt play so i'll be looking for a few rounds when ever i am over.  early mornings or late afternoon, i have no issues in playing in the wind so if any one is up for a challange let me know and we will sort something out..

Does any one have info on green fee's for members yet or even a yearly membership?

June, with regards to you shooting a 44 point stableford in a friendly, the word 'bandit' does spring to mind :-) , however, you can actually get your handicap chopped even in a friendly when your shooting rounds like that

I didn't really, it was only 42.  No it wasn't,  I was only trying to wind Ant up,  as you can see if you look through the threads, he has this wonderful knack of winding everyone up.  Very difficult doing it back. He just ignores us.  I still stand by my comment  that he does bring the bandit word up often.   

I do have the odd game where  I score like that, but generally only for one half of the game,  as on Friday, first time of playing this particular course,  22 points on the front, but only 14 on the back..There's no question of me being a bandit.  I play in a qualifying comp at least once a week, every week.  I know a lot of people,  probably more men, that don't.  I love the game too much to cheat, even if it's only mysel

If I did score 44 points in a friendly, I don't think I can get cut now, not on general play.  The rules have changed, maybe it's different for men? Not sure.   I know I can have an unofficial handicap if I was playing in a society, but it  would still be the same as it is now.  Unless you punish people for winning,  even if they don't play to their handicap.

Green fees for owners  is still something like 65 euros?  You can get that price with any of the many agents in the Murcia area.  Don't think they are going with annual membership. Think they are still trying to get people to cough up for that 25 year package.  Hoping that changes.

PS It would be nice if we all mentioned the club that we are members of. You never know, we may have played yours.  Both Martyn and myself play at Nuneaton, which is in Warwickshire.

Best way to wind him up would be to wait until he has done the front 9 and posted a nice score of 22 points, start telling him is score after every hole, no doubt by the time you get to the 18th that 22 points hasnt increased as much - best way to wind someone up is by telling them how many points they have after each hole, it really bugs me  

i dont think the General play rule has changed - however i do think it all depends on what cat golfer you are, i know it doesnt happen in cat 1 which is a bummer as i trried for a few years to cut my handicap down to scratch but was never allowed in general play - and when it came to the comps its all good and well shooting 2 and 3 overs but if the SSC drops by 2 shots your only hitting level par nett round

Currently Playing at Silvermere in Surrey, this is handy for me as i am also a member of there carp syndicate there.  However most of my golf days, weekends where played at Donnington Grove in Newbury Berkshire.

not much chance of me getting 22 points on the 1st nine, altogether maybe, playing off 15 and poorly,and i am not playing golf with a woman, so she wont get the opportunity

Thanks for the info Jeb, for those that still have them, the old discount card gives you 20%too, I think, on the golf courses. 10% bars and restaurants.  Whilst that card  you can buy looks like a good deal,  It would depend on if couples were there together?  For instance if we bought one in Martyns name, and then I was there on my own,  I wouldn't be able to use it?  Also, do you get discount on PW courses just for being an owner??  Can't remember, but I'm sure someone will.
