Thanks for that.

By the way there is an interesting discussion going on right now about the award of costs/ interest and Maria is involved. The forum: case won and money returned - Maria @ Casta Luz Lawyers.

They were quick enough to ensure they recieved our deposits and stage payments on time, now they make one feel as if its their money we are asking for and not our own. What a cheek! The whole system is wrong, we never went to court to pay them why do we have to go to stop them stealing from us? These banks (ccm) should be struck off from financial trading as in principle it really equates to fraudulant trading. Etiquette? What a joke. Its not just peoples lives they are messing about with, its their own customers. After this treatment from them, who in their right mind would ever go near them or recommend them to another.

Paul

Quite right.

You might be interested to know that Cajasur savings bank who took over CCM (and are thus responsible for their actions) are owned by the Catholic Church and until May (when the bank of Spain stepped in and sacked the board of directors) were headed by a chairman no other than Priest Santiago Gomez Sierra. With a total of 6 priests on the board you might have hoped that they would have honoured their legal and moral committments; This has evidently not been the case.

If the Spanish banks won't accept liability in respect of bank guarantees how on earth can they truly calculate the extent of their financial liabilities? If so to what extent are they exposed? This might be the very reason why in Europe there may not be a political appetite to deal with the Spanish property scandal - for fear of melt down.

the way the banks in spain behave and their govt  is unforgivable , they introduced bank  gaurantees  so why not honour them, i bougth in spain  instead of  india  for my parents  retirement , and i thougth india was backward and corrupt to the core , although i got my deposit back, it really gets me when the way they play with peoples lives , how would the spanish govt and its people react  if they were treated like this in england .
