San José buyers face anxious wait

Jumilla town hall has issued warnings to the builders of Santa Ana del Monte resort as deadlines to construct infrastructure, expropriate land and design plots are due to expire in the coming months.

According to Fina Torres, chief of Jumilla town hall legal department, the board of compensation has not paid the 4.6 million euros for the land which has to be expropriated and they have done nothing since February, 2008.

"The building plan has been definitely approved by the authorities, the land has been turned into building land and the scheme has been temporarily stopped, not cancelled," Sra Torres added.

"Our duty is to state that several parts were due to expire and to find a solution.

"If the board of compensation is unable to manage the expropriations and we do not reach agreement with the board, we will have to find a way to manage it."

The board of compensation is managed mainly by Herrada del Tollo - a sister company of Grupo San José - and they are in voluntary suspension of payments.

Grupo San José sales manager Almudena Rodríguez told CBNews they were fighting to finance the expropriation, but it was difficult due to the voluntary suspension of payments.

 

Did anyone see this in the Costa Blanca News. How come they can start a new project without finishing El Pinet!!

It is because it's  what San Jose do best, STARTING DEVELOPMENTS, NOT FINISHING THEM AND THEN MOVING ON TO THE NEXT PROJECT, It obviously pay's better!!

I waited years for my property at Albatera before switching to El Pinet, Albatera was a project that was never ever going to get built and if i had not tansfered SJ would still be having me think that Albatera was going to happen! it turns out that my transfer did not do me a lot of good either!

It is criminal what is happening, they should be in prison if it were not for all the corruption at top levels but i always say "long runs the fox" i am sure that time will run out for them and all their other corrupt associates that enabled them to give out worthless bank guarantees (meaning that they are very cleverly worded to prevent giving the money back) anyone with a valid and legal bg should be ok!

A few years ago i warned my husband that i sensed a lot of corruption, i especially got suspicious when our agent seemed to follow the bank manager ie he would recommend a certain bank but as soon as the manager left to go to another bank it was change to this other bank, i ended up having a furious row with him because we were going to a bank of our choice and not his, why would this be such a big issue? i know the answer. Anyway at the time i was told oh don't be silly, don't be a drama queen etc etc, the rest is history!

Hi Far,

Yes we nearly bought a villa at Albatera, as we would have got a bigger version. Or was it a bigger hole in the ground to throw Euro's into?

Still we have the place at EP now.

I thought they stopped doing cowboy films in Spain.

Its just shocking what happens, the EU commision should do something. Mind you the rot spreads upward.
