Landscaping outside the Bars

Does anyone know what is going to happen with the waste land opposite the bungalows?

I would imagine they can't do much as it backs onto the cemetry.  We are in block 2 & when we bought our apartment we were told allsorts.....a swimming pool, tennis courts, gardens etc....3 years down the line & still nothing!

As I type this there is work going on on that plot. They are trucked in loads of topsoil and there is a digger spreading it out right now. There will be a bit of a park, tennis court/s and football pitch/es (numbers unknown), however, we are not sure that this will actually happen this year.

The small strip at the end by Brisas is owned by a developer and I am told they have gone bust, but I'm not sure whether or not this is true. However, it's unlikely that anything will be built there in the foreseeable future as nothing's selling.

That is good news Irene, even if we have to wait another year or so. Like Sandra, when we bought in Block 1 we were led to believe that the area would be a park and football pitches etc. As we don't face that way it didn't immediately concern us but it will certainly tidy up the place.

We're on the home straight: the paving around the edge has been completed, there's a fence around the pedestrian area outside the bars and (I think) Spanish Chestnut trees have been planted. They're filling in the other end now and marking out the parking area.

Had a couple of police raids in the area last week: one house facing the cemetary where they were supplying drugs and one in Brisas del Mar. I think they took a couple of people away. All to the good if they clean up the area.

There are some particularly noisy people in Brisas though. So glad we're at the back of Mar Y Sol!

That's rather disturbing about the drugs but at least the police seem to be doing something. Drug addicts hanging around are not what most of us would like to see, whether we are just visiting or living there.

I wonder if the noise from Brisas is from residents or holiday makers? The blocks are so close together that it's bound to affect the people at the front of Mar Y Sol. Like you Irene I am glad that we are at the back but I wonder what can be done about it. I know the people in the bungalows have complained about the noise in our small pool during the peak season of July/August but we have never been there then so can't really comment. We are over next week for a month so may find out!

Glad to hear that they are making progress on the landscaping. It won't be too long surely before we can sit out there.

We had some guests out at the apartment at the end of May & they mentioned the police activity.... sounds like the police are on to it though.

There were a couple of police raids a week or so ago and it's obvious that the local police are on to the trouble-makers!
