Has anyone been over to view the Oasis or heard about completion time?

Our appartment is in block 1 and we have recently been informed that the completion date will be September/October of this year. A friend of ours was there last week and he said it was just a building site and even the roads in and out of it was not completed.

Hi

We have been told that completion will be May/June but it could be another 2-4 months for the habitation certificate to be granted. We were there in Feb and still a lot to do in the gardens and roads.

Was anyone else surprised at how close the other developement is to Oasis?

Hi there, new to forum,  so hello everyone :-)

I was there a few months back and took some pictures when I was there in february, I will post them up today hopefully.  As to the other block being so close, I really couldnt believe it, especially for block 2.  If anyone is in that block you should atleast get some pictures or speak to the developer so that you are aware.  I think I have some pictures that I need to download from the camera, if I have then I will post it up today also

I had gone into the showflat (which wasnt completed at the time) but the finish was very well done and to a great standard.  Whoever has that penthouse in Block 1 (the showflat) has the most amazing terrace and views....just amazing

Has anyone also heard anymore of the Marina thats due to be build in Mijas?

Hi Kaush

I am in block 1 and I too was suprised how close the Calanova apartments were. I agree with you that that the finish inside is excellent and when finished the apartments should look 1st class.

I go to La Cala soon and will take some photo's and post them up.

From what I gather the marina is a long long story but I believe it will happen one day. I asked around in November and people said nothing would even move an inch further until the elections in La Cala were over in May??

Here is the web page and nothing has changed for quite a while on it.

http://www.marinamijas.com/index.php?mn=hp

It would be nice to see a few new photo's if you have any.

Hi Chipmonk

Thanks for the information.  I looked on my PC and have some pictures I took in feb and will post them up now, I took some from the balconies in Block 2 and 4 on the 2nd floor so people will be able to get an idea of the view.  This was before the new development went in.  I have some later ones on my camera at home which I will try and upload tonight or tomorrow which shows the place in a more finished way.

I really think this development stands out from the rest in the design and build quality.

You must have some good views from that part of the block :-)

Will try and post some pictures now

Hi Kaush

Thanks for posting photo's, I have put a couple more on from November 2006.

I totally agree with you that development stands out from the others and I think they will become very desirable to own one of these in the future.

Hi there

I just got a letter through from the agent to say that the development will be complete in July and within 30 days of reciept I would potentially start arrangements to complete the sale and mortgage??  Just wondering if anyone else has had this and if it seems realistic considering its not complete fully and that most businesses close for august?  I would have thought september seems more realistic??

Has anyone been over recently to see progress?

Hi

We were over couple of weeks ago and things really progressing, ( met Chipmonk at the developement so nice to meet other owners). In the interiors it looked as though only kitchens still to be fitted. Outside, plants and trees have been planted, lighting is in along the paths and at the pool side. I think it will be finished soon and we were told that they were hoping to get habitation certificates for July but don't think it will be that soon. A friend has bought an apartment further along the coast, it was finished in Feb and they are still waiting for their certificate, so probably Sept is more realistic.

Hi there

I am going over to La Cala in the next couple of weeks and will go onsite, let me know if anyone wants to find out particular information or particular pictures of the site and I will try my best to accomodate.  y mum is over at the moment and she said the development in front of Oasis seems to have grown higher than expected so hopefully its not too bad in blocking the view.

Thanks

Hi

It will depend on which block you have bought in and which apartment but the other developement has probably blocked out the view for a lot of the apartments. Any pictures of the developement would be great to see.

Thanks

Hi to all

Still no news on completion yet?

I agree with Cookie about a September date and that might be the earliest, if they are to fit the appliances in the kitchens in the first 3 blocks (around 80 units) I would have thought it would take a while and with the August shutdown it may even be later.

I have posted a photo taken end of April (when we met Cookie there) showing the development in front of  block 1 and 2. On the left at the start of the road they are also going to build so it going to be a complete road with housing either side before long. Also a photo of blocks 3 4 5.

Regards

Hi Guys

Well I been onsite today and will be going back tomorrow, I have to say I was very impressed with the finish since I last went there earlier in the year.  I am in Block 4 and the appliances were in the kitchen nearly and the whole place has really come together.  I will post some pics today and more tomorrow if I can take others, I think whoever has purchased here will be very happy with the apartments, communal areas etc

If people want specific pics let me know.  There are a mix of pictures and I will try and take some of other blocks tomorrow too.  The agent said it looks like end of July and licenses paperwork is being applied for??  I also think sept is realistic

Hi Kaush and all

Thanks for posting pics the Oasis looks like it is coming on great and I think we are all going to be very pleased with our purchases.

If you get chance it would be nice to see a photo of block 1 and the road leading up to the Oasis apartment.

A bit closer to completion may-be we could arrange to get the snagging done with anyone else on this site who has purchased on the Oasis.

Many thanks and enjoy your hols; looks like the weather is fantastic

Hi all

Kaush, thanks for the photos. If possible, it would be good to see what the area of spare land in front of blocks 3,4 and 5 and the road looks like.  We have been told it will not be built on but you never know!

Enjoy your holiday.

Hi Cookie/Chipmonk,  thanks will do, shame its all over tomorrow and flying back tomorrow night.

The agent wasnt free today to take me onsite and hopefully is available tomorrow.  Even if she is not I will go and take those pictures before I leave.  I have had confirmed from the agent (if thats anything to go by) that the land is owned between Oasis, the development in front of block 5 and in front of block 2 (I forget the names) and that land will be landscaped as neutral ground and nothing can be built on it (buildins or housing for equipment etc) it is classed as green land and can only be used for that.  I also had my solicitor run a thorough report through the council tomake sure this is the case and they confirmed it too.  The agent said however that this would not be completed until summer 2008 approximately (once the final phase of the development in front of block 2 is completed).  After speaking to the agent on a seperate note they said there is also some empty space behind our blocks that are available and sized enough to handle a few tennis courts should we as a community decide.  Both the pools are also in and planting of seeds etc is well under way.  The road leading upto block 5 is complete and entrance and underground parking is complete also.  There are nicely lit walkways behind block (the entrance) the lifts are in and the lobby areas pretty much complete, and looks very nice too.  The AC units have been discretely placed outside of the apartments along the wall (on one of the pictures you will see flush grills on the wall, which is their housing) the climate control AC was fitted and in the apartment all that was remaining was the fridge installed and sink. The washer dryer and dishwasher was plumbed in.  My sister in law has a property investment company in Spain and she came to view this yesterday and said it is one of the nicest developments she has seen and the attention to detail will really make this one stand out among the others in surrounding areas.

The brickwork is complete along the walls leading upto all the blocks and the footpath, both look very classy.  The swimming pools for the ground floor apartments are in and were filled with water..felt like taking a quick dip actually but didnt want to get caught and en up offending the new owners before we even move in :-)

I think Chimpomk is right in that we should maybe get together for the snag list so that we are sure everything is covered and introduce ourselves etc...

Will try and upload more pics tomorrow, and btw it is absolutely georgous weather here at the moment!!

ok back to the land of rain and working...

I have uploaded some more pics.  The ones on the 15th June show the road and the blocks and one showing the kitchen with the granite worktop, I think one of the garage and its entrance. The ones on the 14th show pictures between blocks 3,4 and 5 the green land/area.

If anyone wants certain pictures in better quality let me know and I can email them as on here they seem to be compressed...

On the last day I was there they put up the gates for the entrance into each block and the video entry phones..

Thanks

K
