Buying an apartment in Los Naranjos

We are considering buying an apartment in Los Naranjos and we would appreciate some advice and comments on the fors and againsts of buying/living there permanently. Would you say it is mainly for golfers taking week-end breaks or golfing holidays more than  a place to live all year.

How far is the sea/beaches/shops/main town? Are there good transport links?

We currently live in Spain and are therefore used to the way of life. I speak fluent Spanish too.

Any help/advice would be very much appreciated.

Naranjos is great but VERY quiet, with many of the sqaures largey unsold, very few guys live there full time (a lot more resident are down in Jardines) so its a bit of a ghost town until the high season, if thats what you want then fine

One on the site, other than the onsite supermarket and bar / restauarant you are a LONG way away from anything else commercial and would need a car as there are no transport links to talk of.  The nearest town ins Mazzaron that is about 15Kms down the very good main road,  its a traditional spanish town, with a wonderful long wide beach at Bolnuevo, its  dead most of the season but very busy in the Spanish holiday months. The closest other retail development that has stores and retail is down at Camposol this is approx 5 mins in the car before you get to Mazarron

The big buzz currently is the rumour of Paramount pictures setting up a theme park in the immediate area, this could change the profile of the area condsiderably, which you may either see a a good or a bad thing !

I guess we need to drive to the area to experience the feel for it and whether or not it would be suitable.

The prices of the property were appealing, however, if it is TOO quiet and far from everything then maybe it's not for us.

My advise is to rent a property on Condado for maybe a week. (You can post a thread asking for rental details on this site )

Ideally on Naranjos as I don`t think you will get the feel of everything in one day

Then afterwards you can see how you feel

There are still apartments for sale on the Jardines & again there are owners of two & three bed apartments who rent out.

We have a 2 bed apartment in Jardin 5 PM me if you would like details
