Can anyone recommend an independent surveyor for snagging, who provides lists in English and Spanish and is also good at following up? I saw some recommendations on this site a while ago, but I can't find them now. Thank you!

I used Campbell from Survey Spain for some general survey work recently. He's a UK qualified Chartered Surveyor and he also works with spanish architects too. Very professional report and no doubt he can do a good job for you.
If you look back to a posting on the 8th Nov 2006 there are 2 recommendations for Miguel & Cardiff who appear to be doing good work at Casares?

John Jones our friend did our snagging for us. He's very good (see 8 Jan for his phone no, e mail etc.), Unfortunately Cardiff is no longer employed on the site. I believe he was too good at his job and the spaniards couldn't really hack him chasing them everywhere to get things done. It's a shame as he was a good reliable chap. (Hope his mum's reading this as he said she used to get on to the website and let him know any comments that were made about him) As for Miguel, well he is Spanish after all, John seemed to get on alright with him though so give him a ring. He does lots of work on site so he'll be around to chase things up.

We used Philip Nott for our blk 15 apartment and he provided a comprehensive list plus 59 photos ! How does that compare with other snag lists ? I think that paying someone to go back and check progress will be a waste of money unless you can get reliable prior confirmation that the whole list has been dealt with, otherwise they'll arrive and just repeat what they found first time !
We bought through Viva Estates and they're very helpful so will ask them to pop round and give a quick verdict at some stage.
I was at the site this weekend and found that hardly any of the snag list had been done after 3 weeks. Lot's of fixing to do too on communal areas, e.g. passage to car park. Who snags these ?? Apartment filthy in terms of builders dust, where they've rubbed down walls etc, cigarette ends on floor. I'm going to have to shout at them this week !
Will be interested to hear of other experiences of dealing with folk over there, ho wto get them moving.
P.S. weather this weekend was diabolical, very strong winds and many trees around the gardens have been blown over. I'll let Ammex know as many can be saved if dealt with promptly.

We bought Daikin aircon unit from Costa home furnishings as recommended by MLH. Having paid over final payment 2 weeks ago on completion of the apartment, we are now having problems getting hold of Martin to see about getting the unit installed. Any tips on who to talk to or how to get action on this? Lomax thanks for reminder about John - seems like a good option to get things done.

Well we snagged our own with the most comprehensive list I think they had eve seen including photos. WE went out to check soem 5 month later and hardely anything had been touched. SWE spoent a week chasing every day cardiff Miguel the med lux homes offices etc. I was exhausted by the time I returned home. They ewill do things when you are there but as soon as you leave they go onto the next new arrival who is tryinhm to get things done. For example we have been waiting for a\ new front door since July 2006 and guesss what we still havent got one ! well no surprise there then .the garage door do not work the grass areas are crap the lighting only works Monday -Thurs we have no letter box no video security, no security in general. We completed with a approximately 10 listed items\remaining onthe shagging list which the developer signed to say would be completed in 30 days hey guess what we are soem 70 days passed and they still are not done . Absolutel nightmsare!! I have never come across anything so\frustratinf in all my life. Everyone pointing fingers at everyone else anfd no one taking responsibility but threating to keep your depaosit if you dont complete. Watch this space cos we have already been approached my The Times to do an articale and if things do not more soon they can have all the info regarding med lux homes and Interlaken .

We have also fitted the Daikin aircon and had trouble contacting Martin. I had left a couple of messages on his answering machine, but no joy. In the end we contacted Lisa of MHL who sent him an email, after a couple of days he then contacted us and we have now been told the units have been fitted. So suggest you try MHL to help you out. Good Luck
