Site and weather update - 28th January

Hi all.  I have been off line for a few days because my line kept dropping out due to the weather.

First, update on the site progress.

Nothing new visably going on to speak of since the last photos.  They continue to progress with the diggers and machines working the  footings and there does appear to be some materials on site for the installation of pipes for the infrastructure to start.  My information can confirm what both Kevin and Darren have said.  San Jose are waiting to have the actual licences signed and in their possession.  They expect them next week and intend to start in earnest first week in February, weather permitting.  I will of course go and look and let you all know.

The weather this week took a drastic turn form 20 degrees to 2 degrees in the day.  Wow quite a shock.  We had snow on Wednesday which did not settle in town or the campo but did on top of El Carche.  Thursday brought shed loads of much needed rain and storms with lots of lightning.  The temperature has not gone above 3 degrees during the day since last Monday.

For those of you who are coming to stay with us in the coming weeks I will email you the day before to let you know what to expect weather wise.  It is the wind that is cold although it is not blowing that fiercely.

Thanks for that Linda I to have been offline which is such a nuisance as this is the only way I can find out what's going on, I e-mailed my estate agent in December still waiting on a reply. Your updates are a godsend.

Hi, said I would be visiting on Jan 14 - 16 and I did - but my computer has been playing up and only today did I finally get scanner fixed to download pics.

Weather was lovely on 14th - warm and sunny , about 18 degrees

Weather was bloody freezing on 15th - maybe around 9 degrees

Fog all over site early morning but brightened up to 18 and sunny later.

No-one on site ( 4 people from SJG were available) was prepared to give me any completion or indeed 'real' start dates. I was just told to contact Head Office, Noelia maybe?

My contract says completion in March 07 ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! and we bought in 04.  Anyway I am not too worried, as I know that I am buying off-plan and I expect delays. But as someone said in a thread, we are dealing with Spanish who don't ever want to give bad news so they give no news - communication is crap !

The best information appeared to come from a self employed sales agent who was on site who advised that SJG was still waiting for Building Certificate (?) and whilst  they had Partial Plan approvement they could not actually start building properties wthout this last piece of paper. Anyway he was very confident that building would start in February and that first houses might be ready in September but more likely December.

But the good news is that I have photos of my plot 342 Azucena in R4 (pic 1) - where it has been dug out but no concrete laid.

On pic 2 looking down my 'road' you can see a cable drum, alongside plot 333...someone on EoS has this plot I remember.

On pic 3 you can see the arch gates being built to the complex - for those of you that have seen model in showroom there are two (arched / gated?) entrances to development - one near the main road and another way at back of site - this is the one at rear.

Stayed at Monreal again - it's 'fit for purpose' ! and the cafe con leche and tostada are fine for breakfast next door.

Weather report from visit for those interested

 28th Jan on arrival drizzle  , 29th  Heavy rain,   30th rain and a bit of sun,

31st hail in Alicante first for 20 years  overcast thunder and lightening

1st Feb nice sunny day about 20 deg,   2nd OK but cold

it is the worst weather I have experienced but warm enough to just wear a fleece over my tee shirt
