Hi,

I am pretty sure they don't mind dogs on Alcarzeres beach as long as they don't harrass other beach users, I've seen them there, but obviosly I think it would be frowned upon by other beach users if the dogs used the beach as a toilet, or any of the walkways. So better to take your doggy to do 'his bits' on rough ground and clear up before going on the beach then no one can complain. I intend to do that when I bring my doggy there.

Hi Dogs are not allowed on any public beach in Spain and the police will have something to say if you are seen. We are dog owners and have checked out most beaches in the area there is some rough ground by the mar menor between Los Alcazares and Los Urrutias which I think is OK  and also Calablanque at the far end of the Mar Menor seems OK. The Spanish seem to take their dogs not the beach in the winter and the Police seem to turn a blind eye to this but take care.

Hi Sorry for giving the wrong information, I have in the past seen lots of dogs on beaches, but things must be tightening up, I suppose in a way it is very sensible, not only for beach cleanliness, but the risk to the dog of the sand fly bites which are prevelant on southern Spanish beahces also, which cause lechmoniosis, not a nice thing for a dog to have.
