Restaurants in the area

Hi everyone

We are due to stay in the United Golf Resort for a week in August.  (Apartment 44B) I have tried to find out about the resort and surrounding area but came up a little short.  Can anyone tell me if there are any nice restaurants in the immediate area of the resort?  Perhaps near enough so that we don't have to drive.  So far, the best I can come up with is the city of Murcia itself !!!

Also, are there any supermarkets near to the resort?

Finally ...... Are the swimming pools nice enough to spend a day around?  We have 3 children (very well behaved) .... ages 9 and 12 and we wanted to spend our first day around the resort.

Any tips or advice would be so much apprecaited.

As no one from La Tercia has replied, I thought I would.  I have a holiday home at Sierra Golf which is the nearest estate to La Tercia.

Both are quite isolated and not in walking distance of anywhere.  La Tercia has a Spar supermarket, and a place for coffee and tapas, but that's about it.  Nearest restaurants are Balsicas - there's a Chinese and a couple of Indians about 10 mins drive on the industrial estate, otherwise you are looking at coastal areas like Los Alcazares which is about 20/25 min drive.

There's a reasonable supermarket at La Torre about 10 mins drive, but it's expensive, and another one in Balsicas which sells most things.  Otherwise the nearest shopping mall is Dos Mares, about 5 min from San Javier airport.

I have a villa at Trampolin. Other restuarants are closer than Los Alcazares. Lovely one in Banos y Mendigo also Valle del Sol on the c3319 and for shopping the best is Iceland in San Javier on the road after you come off at the 777 junction and go right past Dos Mares. There are quite a few cafes etc in Roldan and a monday market there

I should also have mentioned our development at Trampolin has a small English shop wher they are very helpful and also an excellent bar/restuarant New Yorks which has excellent food at very good prices and occasional live music.

Just seen your message.

The clubhouse at La Tercia provides other food along with the tapas, it offers a menu of the day. The is a nice restaraunt called El Garrachual not to far from La Tercia on leaving the development drive through La Tercia village at the t junction turn left at the next t junction turn right the restaraunt is along this road on the left.

The social club in the village is very welcoming along with the Dy Vanne winebar in the Village.

Yes you can spend the day around the pool, there are tennis courts, and a bowling green their are normally people around on Monday and Wednesday`s evening playing bolws.

If you are over on  Tuesday 24th August  there is ABBA and Rod Stewart Tribute Band at  the Mosa Trajectum development, 20 euros including BBQ. You probably need to book for this.

There is also horse riding / trekking up at Peraleja golf resort, turn right at the t junction after driving through La Tercia village, carry on along this road you will came up to PW Hacienda Requelme golf resort keep on this road and Peraleja golf is on the right.

Em's Bistro at Sucina is well worth a try. Book in advance for Friday night as it gets very busy. Its just infront of the church in the centre.

We used to rent at La Tercia, and while there visited the Country Bowls in the Valley del Sol, they do a good Sunday Lunch, also we believe they now have a menu del dia for 6 euros for 3 courses, and sometimes have entertainment in the evenings.  When you come to the crossroads whee you turn right for El Garruchel, turn left for the Country Bowls it's a couple of miles along there on the left.
