Hi I am thinking of buying an apartment in this community. I have never bought abroad before and I am looking for any advice.

Is the complex within walking distance to bars etc ?

Are you happy with the complex ?

Thanks

Tom

Hi Tom

Welcome to the Forum

There’s only one Pease of advice I would offer before making such a significant investment and that is to go out and have a look at the resort for yourself.  A number of people on this forum rent out their apartments at reasonable rates. Just say you are interested and those with apartments to rent will make themselves known to you. Sorry I don’t rent ours out we like being their ourselves to much.

Regards

Phil

Hi Tom

Yes Phil is correct.

We stayed in an apartment the same type as the one we had bought off plan & it was great to get the feel of things.

I too would advise you to look at the various types of property & where you think you would like to buy in relation to the supermarket etc.

I supose you could say that our apartment is half way  between the entrance gate Sur ( south) & the Bar, resturant. & supermarket,

which we feel is ideal. nice walk but not to far either if you are to idle (me ) & want to get there by car

what ever you choose to do I know we have no regrets. There will always be those who are discontented  asa lot of the facilities have not materialised due to the down turn in the property market. but that was no fault of Polaris or any other builder irrispective of what country you buy in. looking at it in a positive way then this is probably the best time to buy now that properties are selling at very good prices. If we could afford to invest in another apartment then now would be the ideal time

Best of luck which ever way you go.

Jan

Good sensible advice from Jann and Phil that we off plan buyers did not have the luxury of a few years ago when the site was a field. That said, I am delighted with my purchase and it has delivered everything that I expected and more.

Things to consider really are your circumstances. Penthouses are great for views, peace and quiet and low maintenance but probably not the best for those with very young children, especially on the upper floors. The Jardines are perfect for families and easy access to play areas and pools but could be lively in school holidays.

If you do come out to have a look, also go and have a look at Camposol 5 minutes down the road from Condado. This is an alternative type of Spanish property investment and in my view a good example of how not to do it.

That is sound advice, you have the benefit of the main infrastructure in place so you can have a good look at everything then make an informed decision. With off plan, you look at glossy brochures and are in the lap of the gods. for example, we were originally going to purchase near Jardine 5 which would have been close to the jardines proposed town centre. We then plumped for jardine 12 which would have been closer to the large Oasis town centre. Polaris then amended the plan and scrapped the jardines and Oasis town centres and built the Al Kasar instead to service both the jardines and Naranjos. The plus for us is that we are now near the Al Kazar town centre. I claim no expertise for that, it was pure coincidence, which on this occasion came out in our favour. At this stage in the development of the resort, you will not be subjected to that kind of lottery. I wish you the best of luck with your venture.

Cheers, Dakey

We bought off plan and completed on our purchase last July, my husband and all 3 of my children have been out and they love it, I went out last month for the first time and I fell in love with the place also.  Our garden is approx 15 minutes walk to the shop and clover bar, which isn't too bad.  I agree with the replies that you've had, this is the best time to buy and why not try and visit and stay for a week or two to get a feel of the place.  Good luck.
