Polaris Discount Card

HELP PLEASE!!!

I have been trying to book our free hotel stay at the Marmenor Hotel for weeks.

No one answering the phone - on 610226803

No one replying to my e-mails - 'hmcmurcia@clubhotel.com'

No one at Mar Menor Hotel will book direct - say I need to contact Club Hotel to arrange. 

I am tearing my hair out - any suggestions/help please???!!!

We had great difficulty also. Only way is to ring numbers on your vouchers and persist. Try avoid siesta hours. Also if you go to La Torre you can't get free massage there - now private company. If you go to mar menor you can't get free golf lessons - you must go to La Torre, El Valle or Requelme.as Mar Menor is no longer Polaris!

Also tried booking free night for us and friends at Mar Menor for 2 rooms. Told only one available - can use your 70 euro voucher for 2nd couple. Asked for 2 rooms for any other date and same answer. Finished up going different weeks.

Also couldn't book free night in August cos minimum 2 nights!

Why does all this not surprise me after dealing with Polaris for 2 years?

My Card Expired back in April, but they called me up to ask me to renew.

When I renewed,I did notice that they are now only offering La Torre Intercontinental and not Mar Menor (as polaris gave mar Menor back to the banks). Maybe thats why you are having problems?

Please remember that the discount card is like the priority cards issued by

The Holiday Inn., Crowne Plaza etc

No discount card for any hotel group will allow you to use them during the popular holiday times.

Its just not economical for them to do it.

These discount cards are to get people in during the quieter times.

Polaris is not to  blame for this.

No one in business offers discount at times when they can get the full amount

But keep trying, you might find that if you do not get angry they will allow you to use your card.

But not over the weekends & main holiday periods

I managed to get a free night for my son & his girlf friend

I said we had been over  in January of this year & was very impressed with the hotel etc

Nothing like a bit of creaping. It often works wonders.

We used our free night at the La Torre Intercontinental in May and tried recently to book the €70 room rate for September. They gave me the run around but eventually I got a midweek night booked

When I asked about booking the massage, they were a bit vague so it is interesting to learn that you cannot now use the voucher at La Torre

I have to say the hotel is excellent and I would definitely recommend perservering

Whilst I dont necessarily expect to get my free night in high season (I understand the business ecomomics Jan), it would actually be nice to be told that by them. 

On my very first attempt (4 weeks ago) Isobel confirmed she would get this booked for me and send an e-mail confirmation.  5 phone calls and 4 e-mails later, and still nothing.  

If anyone can kindly tell me how they are managing to contact them (phone or e-mail), I would be extremely grateful.

Think I rang the Club Hotel line and booked it through them? It was a while ago now though.

Peak season or not, I would be amazed if either of these hotels has ever been full to capacity! And I wasnt told that I could only use my voucher when the place was quiet!

Possible tip - I booked my room at Mar menor (for mid August) by email - to Reservas Clubhotel <res-espana@clubhotel.com>

I wrote it in Spanish - maybe that helped - I don't know but it might be worth a try.

If your Spanish ios not so good - try using one of the online translation services - then cut and paste the wording......,
