Hi All,
My sister and her family will be arriving on a Sunday afternoon for the school holidays in a week or two's time and I'm conscious of Supermarket closing times etc for Sundays and her need to stock up on some essentials. Can anyone advise what the closing time is for the spermarket on CDA (1.30-2pm??) and also if there are any Supermarkets nearby that are open later on a Sunday (I seem to remember that Consum on Camposol is closed).
Also, assuming they can't get a full food shop in before shops close on Sunday can someone please advise of a nice restaurant nearby (assuming open on a Sunday evening) where they can enjoy their first meal ?
Many thanks,
Mark.

Kwik Save on Camposol usually open on a Sunday (opposite the closed CAM bank), as is the BP Garage (couple of kms further up from Camposol) on the way to Mazzarron.
Do you have a keyholder ? Do they do a basic welcome pack (fresh milk, bread, butter, cheese, ham, pizzas, juice ?), well worth a few Euros extra cost which is saved on petrol/time/hassle etc and its only to do till morning.
Couple of good curry houses on Camposol, Trevis has a recommendation on here ...... to be honest i've never had a major issue with any of teh food served in the Camposol outlets ......... or could head to Scotties near El Pereton ........... bear in mind smoking inside at lots of thse places still, and no guarantees of it being dry to sit out in Oct/Nov !

Hi Shampers, thanks for the info...
Must confess I hadn't thought about an 'essentials' food pack from our keyholders...I may contact them about this to find out prices, etc. Good thinking !
Noted about Camposol....although I suspect my sister & family may not fancy a curry on a Sunday afternoon....although to be fair, me personally I could eat a curry 7 days a week...LOL
I had seen reviews/comments on Scotties in El Pareton on this forum before but while some reviews were good others were really bad...so wasn't sure on this one...I assume this is the same place...

..have heard good reviews about some places in the port but thought this may be a bit far for my sister to drag the kids to after an early morning start in the UK, etc.
Any other recommendations for good restaurants close to CDA gratefully received...
Thanks again...

Hi Mark
Bahli Hi on Camposol do a good Sunday lunch (sometimes its wise to book so maybe get your keyholder/management co to sort that out), just heard that Kennellys Kitchen has opened up again after the fire in the summer and used to open on Sunday. Also go the Chinese, Trevi Restaurant, Bulgarian and I think the Steak Out cooks on Sunday but not 100%.
Consum is still closed on Sunday but as shampers said you do have quiksave but think they close at 3pm
Will be popping to the shops tomo so will have a check while im there and see who is def open and cooking.

El Saladillo would be my recommendation for a not too pricey first evening. During low season they only have one show at 12.30 on a Sunday (we know cos we missed it!)
Also La Caverna is not far but not sure of the opening times.
Both only a short easy drive away.

Thanks for the recommendations...
Could someone please provide directions from CDA to El Saladillo & La Caverno ?
Cheers,
Mark.

el salladillo follow motorway towards mazarron, come off at camposol exit, go round roundabout to sector A, follow road and you will come to el salladillo.
La caverna, excellent choice, they do a pick up service from polaris but if you want to drive, follow the motorway towards alhama, when you reach the big roundabout go straight across las palmar it is down this road on the right about a couple of km. pm me for their telephone number if you want it.

La Caverna tel. number for pick-up 639633779. They only speak broken English, so the phone call can be awkward, but do a collection from outside the entrance barriers, at Los Naranjos at around 7.45 pm
n.b They are closed Sunday night, and all day Monday.
