Whats the craic with Spikes bar?

I hear mention opf Spikes bar.

Where is it to be positioned? How big is it to be? Will they serve food? What is the timescale?

Is this not going to delay the completion of the clubhouse? Will this then allow Corvera to start charging for golf? Will the clubhouse ever get built?

Can anyone shed ant light on the issue?

Hi my understanding is that the banks are meeting this week to discuss the clubhouse. they've kitted out the conference room next to the driving range and plan to convert that into spikes bar afterwards run by the people at roda offerring a bar and a dozen dishes until the cubhouse is built. I believe they're about 40 completions off 500 the golden number for committing to finishing the clubhouse (which btw had been worked on since I''d last been in august and there's lots of stuff been dellivered) . the challenge is that if there's less than 500 residents a clubhouse wouldn't have the footfall and might be empty like the beautiful clubhouse at hacienda ..so Spikes is intended to be a halfway house..a bar better than Miguels for us to use. The sticking point is Miguels contract and notice period I understand. the current residents are not all lobbying for a clubhouse as they know cash is llimited until those delaying complete and any money spent on clubhouses is less for the community and golf course..and of course we get free golf! so spikes is a good halfway house until next May which is when i believe they plan to finish the Clubhouse (rumour only)

With the airport racing ahead now 24/7 I am confident they'll get this whole thing together by the time that's up and running in early 2012 and I think we've probably more chance of the hotel than roda now becuase of that cos there's no hotels near the airport which is only 5 mins drive.

People from Murcia are coming in to buy apartments now but there's limited availability as Corvera want to be able to offer phase 3 and 4 people what they have left and those are being snapped up left right and centre as I understand talking to them that otherwise they'll be in limbo for quite awile. Some people have done some fine swaps!

almost 500 completions according to Karen, would she like to qualify those figures coz thats not what i am hearing.

Anyway add mine to the list of those locals who are 'desperate' to snap up a property on Corvera!

I do belive Ms Karen, as u call her, is well informed, before & after she made her descision to go ahead with her purchase.

I too have made a decision after looking at all the facts, and got myself one of the mighty fine deals that Ms Karen, mentioned!

Think this lady knows wot she is talking about and is looking to the future not the fast buck!!!!

Have the Corvera stooges infiltrated this site?   Whatever, i wish you all well and hope your 5 star resort gets to at least 2 stars by the time the airport opens

I to have complteted and got myself a very very good upgrade , I'm not a normal bucket and spade Brit brigade we normally see in these parts , I have lived in Spain for 26 years, and live in altea . I have bought my property for the odd weekend and will not be rented , You will probably find that most of the people who are not completing are the ones who can now not afford to complete the purchase , This is not there faults , we are in the middle of an economic downturn as you all well know, So let me tell you positives for all the people who have completed, Nearest golf course to Murcia city , international airport under construction 5 mins away , the nearest accom to the airport, and will be a great golf course So chins up corverians The future is bright Regards Spurs

When you say "Steve Warnock", do you mean the facial recontouring plastic surgeon Dr Stephen Warnock, who if his christian name were shortened to the common vernacular would be Steve?  Or are you alluding to Steven Warnock the bagpipe reedmaker, which you are no doubt aware work exceptionally well with McCallum, Sheperd and Gibson chanters? Or maybe its the Steve Warnock who currently and manfully holds the rank of Exhorter, in the Church of God School of Ministry? Maybe it is Americas current cause celebre Steve Warnock's motion for attorney's fees of $19265-49 (which I have just learnt has been granted. This is wonderful news and will be welcolmed by the majority of the American public, especially his long suffering wife.)

Or is it, as I suspect, the Steve Warnock who plays for Aston Villa?

" some fine swaps " .... "mighty fine deal" ...... perhaps these posters would be good enough to let others know about the deals on offer ? ..... if these deals are so good then this may well be what is needed to give people the incentive to complete ..... i am sure you will be happy to share the information for the benefit of all and the future good of the resort ? i look forward with eager anticipation  to this POSATIVE information being published on the forum .

In an effort to perhaps get the post back on track the idea is to convert the area at the end of the golf driving range, which is completed and is allocated as the golf school into a Spkes bar

I know that Steve & Jane had some input into this idea

This is quite a complex proposal as it would require somebody to finance the installation of things like bar, kitchens etc and a change of use licence

The actual number of completions onsite still remains at under 400 and there are very few completions happening at present and completion  of the clubhouse is subject to more finance being made available

There are a number of people that have swapped from the phase on the hill, by the gate, or from apartments to villas and yes Corvera do make it attractive for people to change however I believe that it is up to each individual to agree the terms, I have 3 inspections for these type of clients over the next 2 weeks

I also know that people have to contractually agree not to disclose the terms of any agreement  but I know that, as with previous posts, people like Jesus, the Corvera lawyer based onsite, is willing to discuss individual requirements

When I am onsite Monday I will see if I can get an update of actual facts relating to the Splkes bar proposal
