Query about renewing home insurance

Hi,

Does anyone know how much the building should be insured for on a ground- floor 3 bed apartment?

I know we all have the 10 year builders guarantee on our properties. We currently have our building insured for 50k and it is due for renewal next week. I want to get the best deal available.

Also, we got an email from a tax consultant stating that we have to pay taxes by 31st December. Does anyone know how to go about this and can we do it ourselves rather than employing an accountant?

You pay for the building insurance as part of your community fees, confirm this with housing, who I believe are your administrators. You should only be paying for content insurance for your property.

Regarding your taxes, you will need the services of a Gestor (accountant/general admin clerk) unless you have very good knowledge of the Spanish taxation system and you are obviosuly fluent in Spanish too!
