Banco Valencia charges

 Dear all,

We have made a couple of transactions on our new bank account with Banco Valencia and the charges seem very high.

A transfer of euro's from another bank was charged at 0.5% by BV whereas the sending bank charged a fixed fee which was tiny by comparison.  Then I made a transfer of €150 to another Spanish bank and we were charged €2.93.  This seems like weird amount but also quite a high % of the money transferred.

Is anyone else seeing charges this high on their Banco Valencia account?

Hi Dave

We have an account with Banco De Valencia. I do all our transfers via HIFX and they do not charge anything to receive money via them. Also HIFX do not charge and give you a decent exchange rate. You can set up an account online and then process your payments online. You have to transfer a minimum of £250 at a time and it takes 3-4 working days to get there. Hope this helps.

I do the same with HIFX and agree, it works well. The higher the amount you send the better the rate.

Banco de Valencia seem to charge what they feel like! Every time I paid a standing order I got charged 2.48 for a €160 payment.

Hence I have now changed bank!
