hi all. i did not buy for a profit or rent out i got mine for me i got no kids and I'm single, i want it for my hols and retirement i do like the place . i worked as a labourer and i saved for about 10years for my place working about 300-350 hours a month for 10years, i put my life savings in to it .so i wanted it to be a special place like i was told it was meant to be pw flag ship .its further out than pw other places, but being the flag ship its worth it but its not the flag ship its the worst up to the others like a lot of us this was meant to be a dream not just a home, i think what the other group should think is how would they feel if they paid 130,000 for a mercedes benz and you went to pick it up they gave you a ford focus they are nice but not what you paid for i think you will be a bit pi-- off

Its the worst one polaris built
over the last 2 years what have we got, nothing
over the last 2 years what have we lost tennis ,squash, football court, herberts bar, gym, restaurant .
The Quality of the builds is pathetic, ie damp ,water leaks the fittings of kichen and bathrooms poor and much more to come i would think Did scum polaris ever intend to build enything else i wonder or was it get the money and run
so its dose not matter if you bought for profit or hoildays we have all been done also its in scum polaris intrest if condado gost town
is run dowm to nothing it will only make there other resorts look better investments and why are they still buliding on other resorts 5***** my arse
a lot of pepole in condado suffer from the big head complex ( i got a place in spain on a five star resort,) read some of there web sites must of copied them out of scum polaris brochure dont get my wrong its ok to have the odd hoilday there to fix apatment faults ,go to the robbing banks etc and find a deserted beach ,harder to find a crowed one

Yeah we have been screwed by Polaris in that the resort is half complete and we don't have the facilities that were promised.
And obviously some people are very bitter about it.
But can we get a grip. Its not the end of the world. Compared to many buyers in Spain we are lucky in that our properties are built and we have a place to live in and some limited facilities. You don't have to be happy about it but maybe a bit of realism would be good.
I wish we had all the facilities as well but there's just so long you can (maybe should is a better word) stay angry about it.
I'm just grateful that we have a few people over there who are making the place a better one - certain presidents, golf society etc.

Henry I agree with your views on Polaris.
I know plenty of people are having problems with their places and having no response from Polaris. I know what its like to have to find other parties to repair and replace items that Polaris built or installed and should have been fixing. But Polaris is like a naughty child, they'll smile and tell you they'll do everything right but a minute later...
I do feel for those people who thought they were moving to live in a sunshine resort with all the shops and facilities.
But at least Polaris don't control the weather...

This will make you laugh. I enquired about the cost of repossessions on CDA. below is the response i got
Can anyone pelase tell me where the impressive town center is please?
they are still full of bull even when selling them at a discounted rate. Which isnt discounted as the market has dropped 40% in Spain
Dear Richard,
In 2011 we have some fantastic bargains on the Polaris World resorts but only while the stock of bank repossessions last:
http://www.polarisworld.info/time-to-buy.php
We have a number of two bedroom and three bedroom Jardines aparments at Condado de Alhama resort. Brand new properties repossessed by the banks now offered with 90% mortgages.
The resort boasts an impressive town centre and fabulous Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course.
Two Bedroom: Reserve Price: €78,600 (One left at €72,000): http://www.polarisworld.info/property/RM218.php
Three Bedroom: Reserve Price: €78,600:
http://www.polarisworld.info/property/RM219.php
The prices are now discounted 40% below their original price of 5 years ago.
Of possible interest for property speculators the proposed Paramount Studios Theme Park is likely to be built next to Condado de Alhama resort. Once agreed we expect the banks to increase their prices for obvious reasons. A new airport 20 minutes from the resort is built and ready to open late 2011.

Properties can be reserved on a refundable 3000 Euro deposit. If you wish to visit and view the properties this can be arranged through our UK sales office on 0207 060 1475.
Please note that the bank properties do sell quickly and you can keep track of all those available, under offer and sold on this link: Polaris World Bank Listing.

The problem with that reply is that that company is not polaris world, they are just agents, have been selling PW properties and others for a number of years, so you need to contact this company, They are not polaris world!

They may not be polaris world,
If they are estate agents like yuo say then they should be aware of the lack of facalities on CD A and not sell teh place as a all singing dancing resort with a nice town center.

Andyclarke is right. They, Villa Cashback, are / were a 'Golden Partner' of PW and still advertise as such.
As for the glossy rhetoric, expect nothing else from an estate agent.

Oh Dear Oh dear Oh Dear
When will you lot get it into your heads that Almost EVERY one Yes almost EVERY ONE knows of people who have bought or left deposits on new builds have been caught out one way & another.
The builders are not just Polaris & the problem is not just in Spain
Its here in the Uk too.
The only problem is that we do not hear of them very often
For some unknown reason the stories do not get into the press. I wonder why????
I have a friend who bought in Costa Del Sol @ 3 times the cost of ours. The site isnt completed. there are none of the shops etc that they were promised. only 1/8th of the propertys were ever sold so its like a ghost town.
There is an elderly couple who live opposite us who paid out most of their life savings to a very reputable company in Florida
and like polaris they went tail up. the couple lost all of their money as the property was completed but is unhabitable because dispite what they were told the electricity was & is not conected & neither is water.
The site was never completed & for those who`s propertys are usable there are no completed roads
No strret lighting
No security & vandalism is rife.
Polaris DID NOT ask to go almost bankrupt. & it isnt their fault that a large part of the world is in recession.
Be honest if you thought that you were going to lose your home & most of the money you hoped to earn for your old age wouldnt you try to grab back some of it.
I`m an easygoing old so & so but believe me if I had been in the same predicament as Polaris I would have done the same & I think you would do to.

Things may not make the UK press about failed developments but they certainly make the Irish media. There must be at least a dozen documentaries/programs about failed developments and ghost estates along with hundreds of articles.
Obviously our economy is a basket case at the moment but there are plenty of Irish people who have moved into estates which now have a 10% occupancy and rundown and vandalised properties, no streetlighting etc etc.
In no way am I letting Polaris and Co off the hook though. They were too greedy and tried to convince themselves that the growth would continue and continue. There was a global recession but many developers and banks were driven by plain greed (along with some individual investors) and were a major cause of the recession.

Too many people are always saying how things could have been worse "other people have been left with half finished properties, no utilities, building defects etc. etc."
I really don't think this is a valid point, no matter what your situation, you could almost always find someone who is in a worse position.
If I broke my arm and nurse treating me told me she once saw someone with 2 broken arms, this would'nt take away any of my pain.
Also for every story of someone worse off, there is another story of someone who is better off.... look at those on Mar Menor, they had a finish resort in 2006 with Hotel, clubhouse, bar, restaurant and landscaped golf course. Then in 2010 (POST CREDIT CRUNCH) they suddenly got another 3 bars/restaurants (the boulevard).
People are always saying how they love the peace and tranquility etc, but I cant help thinking those people are just trying to convince themselves. If they wanted a peacefull resort why did they buy on a resort which had 20,000 properties planned, 2 town centres and a hotel, which when finished would have been one of the biggest resorts in Europe?
The facts of the matter are we are left with properties worth half what we paid on a ghost town urbanization, in the middle of nowhere, with little facilities. Ok, this economic situations wasnt polaris worlds fault, but it doesnt change our situation!

Oh - It's Darren - that little ray of sunshine again . I hear what you are saying but I still believe that, given the world economic climate - we have done pretty darned well to be left with a resort which is not full of half built homes and we do, at least, have the minimal facilities until things pick up. I love my place and have met some great people so for me it's all been good thus far. I guess it's just what you make of it really.
