Where is Polaris building again?

 This site reports that PW are about to start building 400 new properties- does anyone know where?

The inital report seems to have come from the January issue of 'a place in the sun' but no specific locations are gven there.

Not sure on the Polaris question but a good article on the Paramount Theme Park in this edition of 'A Place In The Sun' with Condado getting a good mention.

Spain property developer Polaris World will construct 400 new homes in Murcia this year, more than any other house builder in the region.

The move comes as a surprise given that there is a significant oversupply of residential properties in Murcia, while new home sales dropped by around 17 per cent year on year.

But with property prices having collapsed by in excess of 60 per cent across parts of Murcia since the Spain property market peaked in 2007, the region is now starting to attract more prospective purchasers seeking a bargain purchase.

Polaris World offer a wide selection of new build houses and apartments in golf-led property resorts in Murcia, with mortgages of up to 100 per cent available.

Some homes by Polaris World have been reduced by over 50 per cent in the past three years, but the company’s aim to increase its housing stock this year illustrates its strength, at a time when many other developers in the region have been forced to stop building due to a lack of funding.

The company report that around 70 per cent of property buyers come from the UK.

Has anyone visiting or a resident seen anything to suggest any of the land on CDA 1 is or has been surveyed recently? I cant find anything other than regurgitation of this 'place in the sun' article and so haven't found a specific location(s) for the building of 400 properties.

The land at the ring road side of the golf course and over looking the golf course lake is a prime location for Villa's or even the Golf suites that were originally planned for over on that side- so it would be interesting if anything was seen to suggest PW are looking at that land again. I know it means they've had to find the where withall to buy back a spread of land but maybe they have been prompted to do to do that with all the Paramount talk. I'd be surprised if they were considering anything like the penthouses that should have created a wraparound for the golf course and so many of them and at La Isla are as yet unsold but villa's or 1 beds might be just the ticket to attract the attention of buyers. Also I dont think the Jardines would like the 3 storey Penthouses now that they have spent so long with uncluttered views.

It would be disappointing if they build on another resort with out even developing a small area on CdA1 and I think that would suggest CdA1 is really on a back burner for them Obviously this news of 400 properties doesnt mean all would go onto one resort but it would be so good for them to show that CdA1 is genuinely still part of their portfolio.  As this Paramount Park could be right on our door step it would be the sort of  move that suggests PW are more in the game than recently thought .

So any sighting anyone- keep us informed!

CdA would be the obvious choice to build if paramount is confirmed.

Infrastructure is already there and the only shops will be tenants of Polaris or Polaris owned.

But I agree that building more of the same while there are plenty available wouldn't help CdA or make much sense.

Maybe there are a few sales going through that we don't know about it and Polaris are forecasting that new units may be needed in 12-18 months, or perhaps they are going to compete against the unsold properties as they are now owned by the banks.

Nope, no activity here, I would think that as IRM own the land so it will be a while before Polaris can buy it back let alone start building here again.  No idea where these 400 properties are, unless they are counting the boulevade and the small resort at Mar Menor?

Pity- had fingers crossed as I had read that soil samples had been taken from near one of the gateways and in fact someone posted  that samples were taken all over the resort. People thought it was odd because the only thing planned (to local knowledge) was the golf club house which is supposed to be by the driving range.

 The article says that Polaris will build 400 properties this year. so could be anywhere and I suppose it depends when it was actualy written.

Still hopeful that PW will kick start something as I have remembered that it was only  Nov 2010 that PW announced huge profits- so maye, just maybe they are in a position to buy back parcels of land.

It  could be the islands penthouses on Terrazas as these are still being built with the Polaris workforce on site as we speak think someone posted they maybe ready Autumn this year

 I read somewhere that they had land in the La Manga area which was going to be developed. This land was the last piece of land that has planning in the La Manga area and will have beach fontage.
