Need some advice

We are in the process of buying  Spanish regestered  car here in the U K ,only problem I feel is that the Tax runs out at the end of February and we want to drive over in April . How can I get it Taxed here from U K or is it O K to be late and catch up when we arrive in Spain any help would be much appricated .thanks delaine

How do you know that this Spanish Registered Car is taxed?

I have two cars herein spain an dthere is no visable eveidence they are taxed/

Every April Alhama de Murcia Council take the tax for all cars in the area from the bank accounts.

When you buy a car the dealer or during the transfer process the council are notified .

The new owner has to be on the Padron register in order to pay the Tax.

To get on the Padron you should be resident in Spain for six month a year ?

If you buy a Spanish Reg car in Spain it has to be legally transfered not sure how you transfer a Spanish Reg car bought in the UK?

May be worth talking to one of the many agents here in Spain who specialise in car transfer and regitration before you buy?

do you have receipts from previous town hall that tax paid up to date? , if not you will have to pay tax for previous owner

Thanks for the info ,bit worried about the padron and having to live in spain for 6 months to be able to get tax for our car .

The dealer showed me the tax form that runs out the end of this month and all the other ducoments seem to be in order .Have contacted p-p via email hopefully i can get this sorted before parting with all the rest of the money (it is a worry) thanks
