I would be very happy to contribute towards all of your hard work on these green areas. I'm sure it is very much appreciated by all of us who don't live there full time. what about asking for donations from us as we're not there to get plants etc to help out. Can we do this if anyone is willing to receive funds or set up an account somewhere?

Hola , The top public space ( Robs boules area ) as been cleaned and turned into a lovely garden over the past two days . With the help of SG residents and a couple on holiday its been transformed . The turn out was quite impressive . Frank & Lesley + Rob & Trudy + Tony & Ethal + Hillary+ Marti + Sonya . Plants were donated by all . What we are trying to do is voluntary helping , all day or a hour or two , when ever a project is started and any spare time you have after tidying up is completed . Plants can be donated , either taken to Frank for planting or if you like plant them into the garden yourselves . These are for all people on SG , to keep clean and plant their own flowers for the good of everyone . As far as collections , thanks for the offers but we want to keep it to volunteers and plants offered from SG residents . The idea is to for people to meet and improve the area without the involment of funds . Holiday makers can pertisipate as there is no rules . Help if you like . Thanks to all those who took part ,

Hi Frankie2, good to hear about all of that work and many thanks to all involved.
I understand if you don't want funds, but just because we don't live there full time it doesn't mean we don't want to contribute. It is difficult to gift time and/or plants from the UK and I was only trying to help. Not being permanently resident doesn't make me a 'holiday maker'. We have two houses on SG, we pay all the costs associated with that and want to contribute to the area as much as we can. As I said, I really appreciate everyone's efforts and am sorry I'm not there to do any of it myself.

I went up to check on the SG boulds garden last night and found some tight person had stole 12 aloe vera plants and found others lying on the ground where they had been pulled up and damaged . We are trying to make the gardens to look nice for everyone but is it worth it when all the effort and cost of water are waisted .

how sad that people cannot see that improvements are being made by people giving their time and dedication to this, and sad that someone feels the need to 'pinch' the plants and unheave the others .................... There are words but not printable!!!

I am gobsmacked!. Cannot believe that anyone could do this. Must be so frustrating for all those
who have put in time, money and a lot of effort.

I started a thread on the 1st of June , ( as Masa vanished ?) , it's now almost August and still no sign . Beside that the top garden is coming along niceiy and Rob the Dutchman has made a sign in Spanish saying " the garden of the Englishman " and as done the same for the lower , " the garden of the Welshman " . When we start the next area later in the year hopefully this this will be dedicated to the Scots and the next to the Irish . More and more people are triming the trees and helping in keeping the place tidy . It's good news for the site and also more houses are being sold .We've along way to go but there should be more people when the new airport opens next year .
