Does anybody accually know want Masa wants ? The home owners ( holiday Homes ) Appear to be in the complete dark about this , and have not been contacted . It was mentioned last week that Masa are holding a meeting at the pool bar next week with the intendtion of wanting Sierra Golf owners to take over the running of the site . Am I right or wrong . Can somebody throw a light on the subject because if there is any voting , I think all the owners should have a vote and not the few on the site at the time . It is Masa owning so many empty properties give them a major vote and can sway the way the voting takes place . Laura called aroud the estate last night saying the forms being handed out by Masa might not be legal and also brakes the privicy laws . She is seeing if this is correct and will inform us when verified . Does anyone know more ?

hi frankie as far as i know masa and the council have had a meeting and the council have told masa what they must do before they adopt the site. most people are in the dark as to what will be said at the meeting .as for the holiday homes if you have a key holder then they should have informed you as to the meeting..i myself spoke with miguel a few weeks ago he said the council was going to be taking over most of the site but not m20,21,22,23,...again most people are in the dark as to why we need a president or committee.laura has been active in finding out as much as she can .some of us think the meeting is about the council taking full responsability for sierra golf but again not sure..i know this only makes things more confusing but thats how things are here at the moment.........dennis

Hi Dennis , Thanks for the info. Originally we heard about the council taking over and having a meeting with Masa  at the pool bar . A few of us turned up , you included but was informed it was only for the council and Masa . Masa before then started to tidy up the area cutting the weeds down in the empty houses and in the streets  on SG where the trees had died to replace them . they dug the holes , leaving the soil on the walkway .Seeing this was done over a month ago not one tree as been planted , The seems to have stopped . Back to the meeting next week on the forms handed out does it mention the council taking over  . There are lots of answers from M asa which need to be answered , Masa men have been taking solor panels from empty properties , gates are being removed , and furniture taken from empty units . Why ? I might be wrong but I was told the man incharge of the meeting is from Masa  . There are lots of chinese wispers on SG about want is happing , it  would  help if  residents  had a true idea what the meeting as been called for .

Hi you mentioned in an eariler post about the need for a president.  Just to say this is a legal requirement in Spain and you must have a president and vice president who is elected from the owners.  Sorry if I'm telling you things you already know but oped this will help.  If you want any more information take a look at discovercostacalida.info as this website as lots of info for both residents and visitors.

Its my understanding that Sierra Golf is a residential not an urbanisation and therefore a president is not required as we come under the local council

I'm going to get clarification from my solicitor Adriana Perez in San Javier

Hi We have a house on SG but live on another Masa Urb - Camposol in Mazarron - Firstly I would be very surprised if the development is in a position for an entity to be setup , the Urb has to be completed first , if it isn't then the council will hold to bank guarantees that they have for Masa and finish the development infrastucture. Lights, Roads, Drainage etc. Camposol was meant to have an entity but fianlly after over 10 years of negotiation the council took over the Urb last Month. An entity on Camposol or SG if it where completed is just not a viable option this is okay for small urb's but on big developments its a no go. I would therefore suggest that SG is a long long way from either and entity or a council takeover. Regards Bob & Kathy

has anyone been able to checked with their solicitors yet?  The main reason we bought on SG was that we were told there would be no community because there would be no community facilities as they were all to be pay to use, like the golf course.  This was very different to the other golf developments in murcia where owners pay towards the upkeep of the course and community facilities.

we would not have bought here if we thought there was going to be hassle and politics about community presidents and community administrators and community fees. I have checked all of my paperwork going back to May 2004 but can't find anything about this at all, does anyone else remember this, or am i dreaming it up? wondered if it was in any sales literature that someone might have kept.

It is not correct to say that all urbanisations (just means an estate i think?) have to have a community.  my last house was in an urbanisation, and our development was adopted as part of the council when completed (again no community facilities).  we paid council tax, but no community fees and the area, including green areas were the responsibility of the council.  It wasn't a small place, the new developments (at least 10 over10 years) more than trebled the size of the village, but it belonged to the council as one village, not different communities.

It sounds like masa won't complete the bits they've started to the satisfaction of the council, so the council won't adopt the site.  That means masa still have responsibility for the area which is probably costing them and they don't want to pay.  they might have found a way of negotiating with the council and charging us to look after the community.  doesn't sound good.  has anyone got anymore info?

We should find what is being discussed at the pool bar on Tuesday , until then nobody except Masa who are fronting the agenda know whats on the table . We have been informed if true Masa advertised in one of the local Spanish newspapers the details of this meeting in 2008 . If there is any voting I think a voting form should be sent to every owner and a new date to be aranged when the people of SG have had a time to discus events .

well done laura ,and residents for stanting together to boycot the meeting . More information must be supplied by Masa and if voiting takes place in the future all home owners must have a vote . We must all band together and not be pushed into something we do not want .

Havent been on here in a while, but all this from a non resident owners perspective is all a bit scary.

where is this situation now?

I would really appreciate if any decisions are being made by owners, that non residents are also included, by means of a proxy vote by their keyholder if necessary

Please advise

Thanks

Jason

How will this affect us on SG . Masa  have been stripped of developer status . (The Costa Calida Informer ) by the local council at Camposol . The  council have always insisted the developement was the responsibility of Masa as the complex was unfinished , anyhow they have now intervened and are now using the funds via thebank guarantees Masa lodged in order to present the initial development to get the council for planning permission .Could this help us ?

Sorry but I don't understand what is happening on Sierra Golf. Can someone explain as simply as possible what has happened, and if this is as a result of the meeting held with MASA and the local Council.

Masa seems to have vanished from the site . Nothing is being done , they appear to have vanished over the end of one of the roads to nowhere they were building . Also the wire fencing seperating part of the site near the golf as been totally  removed . I've been here almost two years and  the area looks worst now than when we arrived .Residents Ian & Frank have cultivated the public area in Calle De Murcia , Rob the Dutchman as set up a couple of boules lanes in the public area at the top of the same calle . Hopefully a few of us will soon start working to turn this into a garden area also and in time hope to continue around the site . Anybody on site who have spare plants and can donate to the garden will be appreciated .   .

We started to cultivate the triangle as you come into the estate, but once the council came and measured we stopped as we 'hoped' that something was happening....... and its a rather large area for just a couple of people to do, but we tried.

It would be lovely to cultivate all the area's on SG such as on Calle   Los alcazares where the water feature should have been as well as by the boules area, Ian & Frank have done a lovely job near them. It would be nice to perhaps get up a gardening 'crew' , unfortunately watering always causes a problem but if you use the right plants once they are established they should survive..

Masa ........ are they on the road to nowhere.... Yes all the work done on the driveway in, what a waste, all the trees taken out and the mud left on pavements, now the holes full of weeds, doesn't look good does it. As for the skip and the rubbish left, flies everywhere, sadly though if we cant keep that area tidy, it makes you sad for other area's. It cant be the same people each time picking up the rubbish, so maybe a 'general upkeep' crew is required amongst us all.

Hola Ladybarra , The entrance area is far too much for two people to keep it under control . Ian & franks area is much smaller , but well done for taking on such a project . Today I am moving onto the area at the top of Calle De Murcia , Robs boules site . Anyone on SG who fancies some keep fit can join  in and help clear the site before planting . Alls welcome .
