Ryanair

Does anyone know what the delay/cancel levy is for as it has just appeared when booking a Ryanair flight(plus online check in has now gone up to £6 a person)?? I can't find anything about it on the list of fees on the Ryanair site

think i read in a newspaper article that this charge would be levied as a way of Ryan Air clawing back some revenue to pay for the claims of cancellations for the ash cloud / bad weather etc...

they must have just put this on as i booked flights yesterday and didn't have to pay it.

 is it legal ???......just how can they get away with it !!!!!

I think it must have gone on yesterday as when I looked at flights over the weekend it wasn't there. With the xtra £1 for online check in that means a return flight is £10 more expensive!!
