Hi

We have just returned from Roda and in general were very happy with our apartment.  Only really concern was the spiral staircase installed to access roof.  This only really affects top floor apartments b and c.  Would love to hear from other owners affected by same.

Thanks

Andrea and Sean

They just seem dangerous. Can't hold onto banister the whole way up as its too close to the wall.  Its a shame because I reckon they could have put in an ordinary stairs.

Went for the penthouse cos intended to use the space as extra living space but will be difficult to bring things up and down. ie food and drink.  Not too mention trying to come down with a few in you! Am really envious of end apartments and their stairs.

Suppose it doesn't help that i'm nearly 8 months pregnant and am cautious on stairs at the best of times.

Does this also affect you.

Does anyone know whether we would be able to change the stairs or would we have to get permission from Roda

Thanks

We have an A ( end ) apartment  and they are fitted with the spiral Stairs,  I complained at snagging that you could not retain your grip as the hand-rail, touches or comes close to the wall in two places.....  After sales  seemed  reluctant to take the necessary action,  however they could have sorted the defect by now ?  We won't  know  until  back at RG in March, if its not sorted we will   pursue this.    After a few drinks  you could certainly hurt youself....    Good luck to you..

I am surprised - I was envious of all the end apartments as I thought they had stairs.

We too put it on the snag list.

It is worrying if you intend renting out you apartment too if someone falls. Who would be liable?

We have an end top apartment also and I was sure that I had a proper stairs but it turned out that it is a spiral stair case.

It is very steep and certainly for older people & children (and those with a bottle of rioja in them! ) is a real risk

To describe such an apartment as "penthouse" is a nonsense. It diminishes the use of what is a large space considerably. Will you in reality bother bringing up settings for a meal each time? How will you get furniture up there in the first place?

Hi,

It was a 2 bed but like you I saw the model and thought that all the end apartments had a proper stairs on the gable end.

Don't know if the fact that you are 3 bed makes a difference - I asked for a detailed floor plan after purchase contract stage but never received it so could not pin it down.
