Paramout Studio's development

Does anybody know any more information regarding the proposed Paramount Studio's development. I have heard that they have the licence but not got the money together yet?

Dovey, your spot on, Paramount have agreed a licensing deal, now the consortium need to get the funding and they only have till March next year (I think) to secure it. They have done the easy bit, now for the impossible bit, getting the millions required to build a park in the middle of nowhere, with few tourists during a recession recession.

Wait and Pray (if you believe?) as its the only thing that can save the Urbanization now.

If everyone sits around waiting for the Paramount Theme Park, that is probably the only thing that can save CDA. However CDA has a lot more to offer than a theme park. I'm sure that most of the buyers that has purchased a property in the last 6 months, like me, didn't do this because of the theme park. They like CDA and they can see the potential. A lot of economies in Europe are doing quite well at the moment. Scandinavia might not be the largest market, but I read an article a couple of weeks ago saying that 500.000 Norwegians would like a place in the sun. Not all of these people will buy a second home, not all will come to Spain, but with the current prices it certainly is attractive. In Norway you have to pay from approx. 300.000 euros and upwards for a 100 sq. meters cottage in the mountains. You won't find a decent restaurant within 60 miles, and you will have to travel 10 miles to buy basic groceries. If we can attract only a few of the possible buyers to CDA, we can have a lot more happening in 5 years. But we won't get there by moaning and waiting for Paramount to happen. It's a good chance that Paramount won't happen.

I hope that the banks who own a lot of CDA now realize this. If they are not willing to make things happen, then they should step aside and let others try. I'm not talking about a million euros club house built in 2011, but maybe we could get a couple of restaurants going etc. Even if that means that the community will have to "support" the business with some basic income for the first years to secure availability all year round etc. And the most important thing is to keep CDA well maintained (as it is).

 most of the recent buyers have been from norway(good exchange rate for them) and the russians (cash under the mattress)

 before they changed the rules about cash deposits  especially when the euro came into force you wouldnt believe the amount of buyers that put cash down!

Paramount Theme Park “In the detail stage”

Paramount Murcia Entrance

A feasibility study on the project has now been completed favorably and the Paramount Theme park moves ahead into the “detail Phase”.

Jesus Samper and his team have recently traveled to Hollywood to hold a meeting with the heads of Paramount Pictures to evaluate the progress of the project and outline the ‘road show’ to be launched in September with the aim of raising awareness of the future theme park that built in Alhama de Murcia and attract investors.

The feasibility study will be sent to all major business centers around the world.

The study includes the collection of data on the current and future hotel capacity in the region, tourism development plans, golf courses, cruise traffic in Cartagena and communication networks, with an eye on the new airport and the AVE train to be operating in 2012 and completed in 2014.

“Our aim is that the theme park is running in 2015 and that the region becomes a world tourism destination.”

The group have been working with the Alhama De Murcia council and have reported that there are no setbacks with the urban paperwork and everything is moving along very well.

For Condado De Alhama owners and the residents of Murcia on a whole the news of this project reaching another goalpost is excellent. The resort will benefit from the tourism generated from the project as will all the surrounding areas. Mazarron have revamped it’s promenade and Bolnuevo is working to complete theirs which is under construction now.

Thats looks something like the entrance we should have had at Condado.  I wont hold my breath waiting  for paramount.
