Hi,
Sorry for this boring post, but have just been out to CDA & we have noticed our TV box remote (PW one) does not work despite changing batteries etc. I dont suppose anyone knows if Polaris still do them & whether or not we can just buy the remote ?
Many thanks

This is one from left field .............. but do you have any free standing lamps in the lounge ?
One of mine was interferring with the remote (honest), bought from IKEA, one of those tall 'paper' ones with quite a few bulbs in it, and operated on a 'slider' mechanism ...........
Got shut of the lamp, and remote worked perfectly afterwards

Interesting post My remote no longer works and another neighbour a few doors away also has a remote that does not work and we live either side of Shampers .....now where exactly did you put that lamp?
I have phoned PW and they will sell me a new one for.....30€ absolute rip off, did buy one in the bricohouse for 3€ which is suppossed to control TV etc but cant program it to do anything.
At least the Mrs cant hog the remote anymore?

I've had a similar issue where it seemed the remote was broke or the box hung, sometimes it came back of it's own accord but if it didn't I reset the box, not the normal power off/on but power off at the rear, hold down the front power button and switch on at the rear.
Keep the front button pressed and you should get info displayed then front panel displaying 'FT..' counting down. Once finished you'll then get to the tuning screen. Feels like a factory reset but still retains the Polaris frequency.

I don't know if this will help, but we had the WISI box supplied by PW last summer. We were having a few issues with the box freezing (displaying "Boot" then just sticking) and the remote was playing up at times. We were out a couple of weeks back, so I dropped PW telecom an email - just on the off-chance, and never really expected to hear back from them (the usual PW experience). But, to my surprise, a Telecom engineer turned up out of the blue a couple of days into our holidays, took one look at the Wisi box, said that there were known faults with it, and swapped it for a different model there and then (he had it in his van).
We've not yet had a chance to try the new box out much, but clearly there have been lots of complaints with the set-top box they were giving out previously - so it may be worth an email to them to see if you can get the same amount of joy...
Cheers

Hi All,
Had the same problem with our PW WISI box.
It is usually not the remote control that is faulty but the reciever in the box.
Speak to PTAN or Big Dave?
