On the issue of security why dont they hold the market at the car park in front of the old sales office. Plenty of space there for everyone and you wont have any issues with who comes into the resort. The residents can drive down and see whats on offer.

I agree with beau brummy, no matter what, there are always some people who moan constantly.give them a chance for goodness sake.its ok if they decide to do something otherwise condado would be the same in 10years. In the end we should respect the Spanish people and traditions a bit more, persuade and be happy for what we have and will get down the road in that beautiful place "condado de alhama"

I cant quite figure out why people are going to have a issue with a market being held in the Alkazar.
whats the difference between golfers coming to play at cda wandering round the course and resort, to that of people coming to a market.
surely this must be a good thing, the more visitors that CDA generates the more interest we will have in the resort, thus hopefully more money spent in the clover etc... and eventually we may have a few more places to eat and drink.
if people dont like or want a busy resort why the hell did you buy on a massive complex?
you have to remember that anyone can also walk into any of the other resorts and have a meal or look round. CDA should be no different. when you visit La Torre, do you park on the main road outside Paul? or do you drive into the resort and use there spaces there?
I for one dont want to be in this situation in 10 years, so the more that happens on CDA at the moment the better

My view is that there will be few people from outside CdA turning up other than those selling products. Most places have their own markets.
I think security will cope and hopefully there will be sensible steps taken to reduce the chance of marauding marketgoers looting the resort. And if there are problems then rules can be introduced.
The markets are great and I really think its a positive thing. I am sure there will be some teething issues but as we don't stop other people entering the resort it would be harsh to stop the marketgoers.
As rich&bops mentioned about the other resorts, I have been to other resorts to play golf and to eat and had a free run of the place.

I haven´t read all the replies but to the last one re. not many people from outside CDA turning up.......I don´t think so!!!!! All day yesterday a car with loudspeaker was going around Camposol informing people of the market.... leaflets have been put in every car & house. I think you´ll be surprised at how many "outsiders" do turn up... maybe not just for the market but to see what CDA is all about.
I might even see you there myself.. if I can drag myself off the beach... hahahaha

You're right Campasol may be different as they may not have their own market. I was thinking Alhama etc and the more spanish towns.
I think turning up to see what CdA is about is actually what some peoples issue with the market is. They don't want anyone being able to walk through the gardens as they please (and I agree with that). I'd imagine it will do wonders for the pub though.
I understand the market runs reasonably late into Sat evening so I'm sure you can fit in the beach and the market.

Hi All
I have just had a flyer put into my postbox regarding the Market on CDA on Saturday ( I live on Camposol D Sector which is known as Bethlehem as it is over the hills and far away !!! )
The flyer says that there will be 20.000 m2 of car parking and 50.000 m2 of Market and it will possibly be the biggest market in the East of Spain !!! ( they may have got these figures around the wrong way but who knows until Saturday ).
It also says that there will be the following Stalls ;
Fruit & Veg , Clothing , Food , Footwear , Home Textiles , Handicrafts , Decoration , Flowers & Plants , Antiques and Gifts .This all sounds very good ! .
Now it says Free Activities ;
Tasting Churros ,Tasting of Beer and Soft Drinks , Mechanical Bull , Inflatables for Children , Gifts for your Visit , Professional Ballet Performance , Hostess & Continuous Shows it still sounds very good until you get to the last line PROCESSIONS AND PARADES WITH 4.000 watts OF SOUND .
If this is what you bought into brilliant , but if you have young children it could be a nightmare if you live in the vicinity of Al Kasar.

Personally, that sounds great! Al Kasar is purposely built not too close to any gardens and after all it is only one night... this weekend's activities are a one off event to kick off our weekly market and so I'm sure we can all deal with that.
We have the most vigilant security I have seen on any resort and that in itself comforts me, Millenium are well prepared and have been made well aware of all concerns from the presidents, so lets relax, enjoy that great community spirit that we all love about Condado and not forget to thank Millenium for organising this for us.
:) See you there!

Brilliant info' Jackie.
Lot of true words in the script regarding the work put in behind the scenes by various parties. Let's hope this is appreceated by those who doubted the administration's and president's true intentions early doors.
Just a pity we have just returned before the July festival and will not be back out until after the August Festival.
Bring it on and enjoy everyone.
Regards,

Certainly more than a market...I had the idea it was going to be a smaller version of the town markets with food, clothes etc.
Looks like it will be a big party. Won't see the July version but will be able to attend in August and hope its half as good as the brochure!!

Typical!! I arrive on 27th July missing the event of the 24th and leave on the 12th Aug missing the medieval event......
Some people are never happy, suppose I'll just have to sit on my patio with G&T in hand and commiserate whilst soaking up the glorious sun......roll on the 27th!!!
