Hi all,

Just booked my summer's car hire through Do You Spain and was given a very competitive price, but have to collect the car from Auriga Crown Rent A Car. Does anybody have any impartial views, good or bad, about them, as i've never used them before.

Many thanks,

Chris.

Used Auriga Crown this weekend just gone.

Chose to book with them as last time I was at Alicante the queues for most other hire firms were huge.  Centauro and Auriga Crown had minimal queues.  Also, their cars are situated in the airport (unlike Dickmann's which require you to get on a minibus to travel to the car hire site outside the airport.

From memory, the queue for Auriga Crown at Murcia Airport is usually a lot smaller than Gold Car.

No complaints.  Tank of petrol was €73 (standard price really) and they didn't try to push any add on sales e.g. additional insurance, etc.

Simple as picking up keys, paying and jumping in the car (which was brand new).

No problems with them -  ex murcia you don't have to pay for fuel.  it surprised me it was full full

Only snag is the deposit for damage if you don't take out their insurance. The Actualy take the money from your CC and will return it back on your CC but you do lose out on exchange rates and commission etc.

What you probably save ion the fuel from gold Car you loose on this little trick, but that is only if you don't take the insurance.

Only once ex Almeria I was given a terrible car - as it was the last flight at easter time the couldn't offer me an alternative. not please then...   but you get that with any of rental companies if you use them often enough..  Mind you I had a car from Hertz  Frankfurt Airport last week.  Booked a BMW3 and they gave me a Jaguar XJ - not a bad upgrade  - bit thirsty though

Can't se that happening at Auriga ---- Lol

Used them a few times, last week being the latest and I was at their counter collecting keys within fifteen minutes of flight landing. If you hire for more than four days then you have to pre-pay for the fuel that's in the car and return at the same level.

I've always found them to be efficient and good cars too. Having said that, last week's Focus did have a couple of dents in it even thought it was almost new. However, I just took photo's of the damage and also pointed it out to their rep in the car park just to make sure he had record of it.

I'd recommend them.

Auriga Crown has been my preferred choice of co over the past 4 years (normally through Do You Spain).  However, this summer I used Costa Coches as they were a lot cheaper.  Their pick up and drop off were unbelievably quick.  I walked out of the airport signed a bit of paper and drove off.  On return the chap was, again, waiting to meet me and I simply handed him the keys and jogged off.  Absolutely brilliant and no queueing whatsoever involved.  Worth a look.

Forgot to add - Costacoches give you the car with a half tank of fuel and you return it the same - so no rip off fuel charges!

After being ripped off by the big boys (on the last occasion goldcar) who more than doubled the price of our 3 day rental with additional extras we decided to use easyoption.com after a recommendation.  These are similar to Arlenes Costacoches.

We were met as we came out of the door at Alicante airport by an english woman where we were taken straight to the car and shown round it for any faults.

No charges for petrol, additional driver or extra insurance and we got a practically brand new Toyota Yaris.

We will definately not be using the four main car hire firms in the future.

Hi Dawn & Mike

Glad you went with them, they have been so helpful and stress free with me each time. I would recomend them every time.

I have tried booking with cheaphirecar on the Condado but they have been fully booked, so I will support them when I can.
