Sorry...

Hey everyone,

I have just joined the forum after toying with the idea of moving to Polaris World for years.

Sorry if there is a similar post on the forum but I couldnt find one.

I'm thinking of moving my young family (2 boys, aged 2 and 4) and I over in either 2012 or 2013 and setting up business for ex pats.

I have heard some rather mixed views on here... some saying its a ghost town (maybe not the best place to set up) with pissed up kids running riot and others who love the resort.

Ideally, I'd like to set up inside the resort but I cant find any information to see if this is at all possible. Is this possible?

And does anyone have any experience here running a businessfor ex pats in Condado / Spain that could give me some advice and tips.

Ham & I LOVE it. Cant wait for Ham to retire as I want to live on Condado permanantly.

I'm sure we'll love it. I'll be looking at a long rent initially to find the best place for the family to settle (we're the nomadic type!) with a view to buy once we've found the best resort for what we need. I've heard Condado is the biggest so I think we'll rent there.

Ever since I seen it advertised in the UK, I knew that this is the lifestyle I wanted for my family. I cant wait! :)

You're doing the right thing in renting first to get to know the area and you will find positive and negative things so good luck. We personally love Condado and was pleasantly surprised on our visit as I had also read all the negative reports, yes it still has some way to go (as all new resorts have to also) but you can see the potential. Prices are still very reasonable and will start to rapidly increase as the recession starts to disperse and Paramount Studios are built and the new airport opens.

You need to explore the surrounding areas and get a feel of the place but we have found that the local people are wonderful and helpful so I'm sure you'll be happy. The pace of life is slower and most prices for every day items cheaper, the climate is much milder and you only have to look at the food to know that it will taste better. The outdoor life will be great for your children and yourself so why not take the plunge, if it does not work out you can always return to the UK. We are going to move over permanently in the next two to three years ourselves and are counting down the days already.
