Turn right out of Condado on to the RM23 heading north.
When you get to the big roundabout at the end, go straight over (think its sign posted El Palmar).
Continue straight on this road until you see a sign for Los Venterillos, and La Caverna is not far after this on the right hand side of the road. Big yellow neon sign on the actual building.
Very easy to get to and food is good.

They will pick you up at the security gates and drop you off for free if you give them a call.

Mixed grill for 2 is good and pretty good value. Its mainly meat based dishes.
Wine is about 5 Euros per bottle.

I think the sea bass needs ordering the day before and can't be ordered off the menu on the night (they also have some more dishes like this).
Best just try it out and see what you want to pre-order next time!

Maybe people's experiences have been different, but I have been to La Caverna on several occasions and each time someone I was with ordered the Sea Bass off the menu (i.e. no pre-order required).
Last time I went was June so things may have changed recently.

Have to say, my last visit to la caverna was to put it mildly somewhat of a dissapointment, after going there in May and really enjoying the visit , we took some friends there a couple of weeks ago, and felt as though there was a real pressure to go for the expensive end of the menue, although our friends were not particularly big eaters as soon as we declind the touristicaly end of the menue, the waiters interest in us declined and instead of the banter between us and them they ignored us until bill paying time, not the most pleasant of evenings!

I think you must have been unlucky. We have been there twice in recent weeks, and have used their free taxi on both occasions. The food and service both times were excellent. Recomend the sirloin steak, its as good as a fillet, and their signaturere starter of Tostada is a must [ if its your 1st time there, get a demo ]

Agree with mgk re disappointment in this restaurant.Have been there three times and never been overly impressed.Food is average and service is ok but much nicer places to eat in the area.Have tried various options on menu after reading great reviews on forum but still don't find it any better.

Hi everyone,
Changing the subject slightly away from La Caverna but still on food, has anyone been to the reataurant at the Monestary recently, we used it a lot until last year when we didn't get chance to go. We drove there in April and it seems they have put their menu de dia up to double the price to about 19euros. The food there has always been excellant so wondered if it still is.
Any feed-back would be welcome as we are out in a weeks time and may try it again.
Thanks

Hi.
I am also of the opinion that this place is overated, we have been twice never to return. It is dark and dingy with plastic walls trying to look like an authentic cave just didn't do it for me and the food wasn't much better. Overrated and over priced in my opinion.

Head into Alhama and turn left at the fountain. Keep going towards Totana. As you get to Totana there is a roundabout that is signposted for Aledo. Take this turning and keep going for about 5-10 minutes and you will come to the Monastery on the right. There is also a big statue of Jesus on the left which provides a good walk up the hill with good views and allows you to walk off your dinner ! If you don't eat there, they do just coffees and drinks and the views on the patio are fantastic.
If you google Monasterio Santa Eulalia, you should come up with their web-site.
Hope this helps.
