golf course update

 The course has been reopened a week now. Unfortunately for the next 2 weeks the greens will be slow and bumpy while the new grass and sand beds in. The reason they do this in september and not earlier is that the grass wouldnt grow so quickly. Also there is now dew early doors and this also helps the bedding in process. However come the 2nd week of  october hopefully the course should be in terrific condition again.

If anyone played the course over the weekend can you let me know what condition the greens are in? Coming over this week and booked to play Thurs, Fri, Saturday so I'm hoping they'll have beeded down by then.

Also, does anyone know what the fees are from 1st October? When I booked a few weeks ago they couldn't give me a price for a 4-ball/buggies on Saturday.

 See below re state of greens.( I played sunday).

As an owner you are entitled  to discounted fees . The public rate is usually 65e after 1st oct but i would argue for a cheaper rate due to the state of the greens. 45e till 1st oct as residents.

Society plays mon, wed and fri at 40 e with a buggy so thats the best deal and you can all join for just 5 e each for annual membership

Mondays and wednedays are usually a small field..

Thanks for the update George. Might try the society next time, but we kind of have our own competition sorted out.

I mailed the pro shop and they have assured me the greens will be "in perfect condition" by the time we play our first round on Thursday.
