Hire cars at Alicante

Hi,I'm out next Saturday and can't wait.

Only problem being I just printed off my voucher for the hire car and it is for a company called Drivalia who aren't in the main terminal.

The directions are go to terminal 2 level -2,then get shuttle bus.

Has anyone had to do this before??I take it it's just go across the walkway then down in the lift as normal,but instead of getting off at Avis etc go to ground level and then outside??

I wouldn't normally care but I have my mum with me and she is nearly 90 so need to be sure what I'm doing.

Any advice?

 Have you paid upfront. The onsite rental company picks you up from the airport so not only saving you the hassle of finding your car but also saves on the petrol both ways!

This happened to us last time with Dickmans who are also off site.  I think there are directions on signs for the shuttle buses in the airport and we definitely went in a lift to get to the shuttlebus area.  It is quite a walk to actually getting to the lifts so if you can use a wheelchair for your mum, i would use one, if she needs one of course.  The car hire bus will have your name so they will wait for you.  If you get lost when you get to the main car hire area just ask at one of the desks - they will point you in the right direction.  Remember to allow a little extra time when dropping off your car - it is a long walk to the gates - as you may need to wait for a lift back to the airport when you have returned your car.

It is a bit of a hike anyway to hire cars,so happy enough it is in that direction.

I will ensure I am in the terminal next time but feel it's a bit late to cancel and re-book.
