Hi Phil
With gret prices like that you better not let Ham know or he wil be over every weekend when he isnt working.
Though maybe him knowing is a good thing as long as he takes me with him.
Hope you are well.
Best wishes to all
Jan & Ham

Don't quite understand what's so good about the fact the Clover is now empty. Of course it's great the The Condado Club is up and running and I wish them every success, we will certainly be popping in when we're over next week. But if the Clover closes I think that will be a shame.

Agreed. We tried the Condado Club in the week and its great that there is choice and we wish them well. We'll still use the Clover though for a quieter drink - price isn't everything unless you just want to sink as much alcohol as you can in an evening. It's also closer for Naranjos and the penthouses. We'll use both depending on what is on and the type of evening we're after! Good luck to both of them and let's hope there is even more choice on offer before too long.

Good point
Competition is always good as it helps to keep prices reasonable Our apartment is in Jardin 5 overlooking The Condado Club but as neither Ham or I are into sport, I know we will be frequenting both.
Hope the Clover remains open as we have always been impresed with the service there
So good luck to both for the future.
Jan

Does a Spanish measure (for spirits) mean it isn't measured, but is hand poured? I can't see any optics in the photos that have been made available.

I have read on this forum that the new owners of Condado Club are also to take over The Clover. I'm not sure whether this is true or if it's just a rumour. But, if it is true they probably have idea's how to keep both establishments bringing in customers. I dont think PW ran The Clover to make the best of it and sometimes the staff were less than enthusiastic- though I always have found them polite. For the owners in Naranjos and the Jana villa's The Clover is better located when just wanting a beer and not wanting to drive.
The Condado Club has great potential and in the summer months is definately needed as another option to The Clover and off season its a great venue for the community. It's the flavour of the month right now and no doubt over time use of it will settle into a routine- I like the fact so many community events are to be part of the use of Condado Club.
I wonder if a proper pathway could be laid across the waste ground between Al Kasar and close to the sports zone to cut off the corner and make a walk from Naranjos a little shorter- would also serve The Clover for customers going in the other direction from the Jardines? I know many peole take a short cut already but its terribly uneven out there and not good if stumbling about after a beer or two in the dark. A proper pathway might stop people cutting across the golf course, although I suppose that land is still owned by the Banks for building on in the future- anyone any thoughts on that?

A spainish measure is hand poured and equate to 3 or 4 english.
Secondly the Clover is owned by the banks but we have an intreest in taking it over as the reaurant is part of the package and the resort needs that opened 7 days a week.
The person who pointed out that they are better off both open are right and they need to offer a choice for all.
We are not knocking the staff in the Clover their hand have been tied by polalris and the banks and the prices fixed. As a result it has been far to expensive for 2 long and that has resulted in many not using it to often. It was empty often in the week before we opened and did not open untill 4pm offering nothing on site for lunches or earlier golfers. This needd to be addressed.(and nothing for children
The Condado Club is trying to offer something for all and even the sport in only concentrated on one side as offering a more peacefull area when sport is on over the other side.
We are the first to chance a business venture privately on site and hope we have the support of the community over time and as stated will always apriciate sensible feedback. If we succeed it may demonstrate to other potential investors the site is worthwhile.
We are also owners so we needed the resort to succeed as much as everyone else.
Thanks to all for taking the time to express an opinion and look foward to seeing some of you soon.
Neil

Good Evening Neil
It would be great if you were able to take over the Clover & the Resturant but I am presuming that you will be sensible & walk before you can ru, so to speak
As someone who frequented " The Surgery" most days I cannot wait to be over in 2012. If we win the Euro tonight ( Fingers Crossed) maybe we could go into partnership (Silent for me please) & open the Clover etc.
Oh well, no harm in dreaming. All the very best to you & your team
Jan

Hi Neil,
A spanish measure @ 4.50 euros was well worth the money and I never understood why soooooooooo many complained about the prices, my bacardi was a triple/quadruple measure most of the time so I was very happy with the price. Beer was expensive but I don't drink beer.
Competition is always good for business, it keeps everyone on their toes and helps businesses establish a USP but if both establishments are owned by the same people we wont have competion what we will have is a choice of venue/atmosphere/surroundings and company ( not such a bad thing).
Dont think the restaurant could be open all year round dont think there will be that much traffic out of season, maybe you could open Fri/Sat/Sun Night with a restricted lunch menu most days and then turn on the razzle dazzle for the high season visitors. This will be a trial/error case for a wee while.
I personally wont go out for breakfast, but if you did a breakfast in bed service that would be different
I think you will have a very successfully business as you have catered for all including the kids, it might take some time to reap the benefits but you'll get there.
Having just waded my way through the football thread sounds like you might have some trouble with over enthusiastic football fans who might forget their Ps & Qs, this is something that should not be tolerated no matter how much has been consumed and should be niped in the bud. BAD BEHAVIOUR/LANGUAGE AND DRUNKEN YOBS(MALE OR FEMALE)SHOULD NOT BE TOLERATED.
Best wishes
Ali

ali and all thanks for the comments
Behaviour is paramount and abuse and swearing will not be tolerated it is a family place.
The price for drinks is good espec for the large measure but you have to compete with whats around and other bars outside were alot cheaper and people were getting taxis rather than staying on the resort.
Time will tell what evolves but at least thning are looking better than a year ago.
Breakfast in bed has not been arranged so sorry cant do but maybe a paper round could be arranged
Neil

Delighted to hear that swearing or loutish behaviour won't be tolerated in the bar. I must admit that had concerned me too, if you've been in any of the bars in Camposol when there's a big Premiere League match on then you'll understand why. That kind of behaviour maybe OK in certain places, but not in a family orientated holiday resort IMO. So great news.
Coming out with friends of Friday for a week, and we're really looking forward to trying out the new Condado Club, especially the tapas. :)
