Xmas and New year on Condado

Hello

I was wondering what it is like over Xmas and New year as we are thinking of coming out for both.

Any feedback would be great.

We've enjoyed our visits to CdA between Christmas and New Year- previously had found Mazarron much quieter but maybe having been developed around the port those bars and restaurants will be open keeping the atmosphere going. I'm sure the Condado Club will have plans for during that period and the Clover did host a New Years party in other years. I'm not too sure how busy the whole resort will be, we did find it quiet but there are more owners now so may be that will change.

What we are seeing is that the flights prices are still very high- just been quoted £433+ for  2 people, Tuesday 27th dec- Tuesday 3rd Jan with Ryanair and other airlines have quoted very similar prices and higher prices often for a shorter visit. However economically you manage to source car hire the overall total for a weeks visit is high.  So unless flights change greatly we wont be visiting this year- might be useful if anyone sees 'offers' coming on line that they post about it.

We also had thought of coming out Dec/Jan but found the flights far too expensive for a few days/week.  Didn't mind it being quiet on the resort, as long as the C Club was open for socialising.  It would have been a nice relaxing break but it won't be happening this year for us either.  We will be staying at home for Christmas and coming out in Spring instead.

I am sure all of you who are going to be there over the festive season and New Year will have a great time.  Would love to hear about any plans that are being discussed for the celebrations though.

We have come over for Christmas and New Year for the past 3 years. It is quieter generally at this time as you would expect.

Only advice for flights is to book as early as you can. I think generally there are no late deals to be had for this time of the year. We booked back in March and still paid £300 for 2 people.

I would keep checking as we have found prices dropped nearer the Christmas- if you are willing to fly early or late. Did get very good flight prices for New Years Day 2008 and 2009 (couldnt do 2010, but out going flights reduced nearer the Christmas fortnight)- flying out Boxing day both times. We aren't bothered that it may be a bit quieter generally on the resort and certainly on both those visits New Years Eve was more lively and should be more so now there's the Condado Club. if we had the option of a longer stay it could have been feasible but unless we see those prices drop as they have previously then we'll be giving it a miss. Great pity because I'm sure the atmosphere at New Year would be fantastic and having been in the Condado Club this week I'm sure it'll give anything the Clover comes up with a run for its money.

We have booked to go out boxing day and come back new years day...£300!!!    Birmingham to Alicante :(

Not cheap but I am sure it will be worth it
