Just thought this might be interesting for people- not sure where they get the fact that there are just 8 penthouse apartments available at CDA?

Looks that way, these are comments from their site-
"Personal Property Advisor is a boutique consultancy that has been designed to assist anyone looking to invest in property - anywhere in the world. "
"We assess the latest developments in the domestic and overseas markets and bring a discerning selection of properties to the attention of our customers. We only recommend resorts and regions that have been checked and rated by us. That way, we can present you with a range of enticing options that we’re happy to put our name to. If we believe that a property doesn’t represent value for money, we won’t share it with you. It’s that simple. We’re proud of our reputation for sourcing excellent properties around the world."

The excuse is pretty poor for not signing. Up until today all systems go, and at the last minute they haven't got the major paperwork in place. You would have thought that someone on the legal side would notice that the documents aren't right before the 11the hour.

Having had delays in both our purchases on CDA due to missing paperwork when going to sign at the Notarys office the delay comes as no suprise.

I would think some of the land involved has been with some families for many generations, and imagine how many owners there could be of one piece of land . I remember dealing with old farm land in the UK that had never been registerred with Land Registry. Sometimes finding out boundries is an issue.

Load of Bollox really.
What is it, nearly a year they have been working on this ? You don't prepare for something of this magnitude then at the last minute announce the paperwork is not quite right. How amatuer could you possibly make yourself look ? This is just a big smokescreen in my eyes.
Here is my conspiracy theory & dream scenario..................They have done some last minute negotiating with the banks and agreed a price to suit both parties and decided to build at Condado (where the infrastructure already is in place) after all ! There has been a secret agenda running all the time with plans ready to switch location as soon as agreement could be reached waiting for which party would call the other's bluff first. Now wouldn't that be something.

Well it would help property prices but I wonder how the residents of La Isla would feel. Their view was to be landscaped golf courses and all of a sudden a theme park arrives instead!! They would of course be a great sound barrier for the rest of us!!
I remember flying into spain to sign the papers for CdA to find the habitation cert hadn't been issued for our apartment and many others. If the paramount situation happended elsewhere I would be thinking there's trouble afoot, in spain I think thats life.

I agree with dringman, although I also agree that it doesnt look very professional. However it seems to be a constant theme in Spain nothing seems to ever happen in the time frame agreed. The Spanish are accepting of this but I think out in a world market they should be trying to do better.
If we look to our own Condado Club wasn't it meant open at the start of summer and eventually it was late summer as paperwork hadn't been sorted- if this is so it meant the owners lost all the expected profits for that summer. Quite a blow to a new business. But there seems no pushing Spansih beaurocracy .
As dringman says some land in Spain has been with families for generations and I know they are often divided between many family members so it is a genuine problem sorting ownership and getting agreement from all. I remember watching one of those 'new life in spain' programmes and a young couple were going to buy a farm with extensive olive groves- there were 30 members of the Spanish family to get agreement from and some weren't being very co-operative! Mind you at the present time you'd think everyone would be champing at the bit to get a deal signed and get a few(!) bob in the bank.
